Emptied two cans of Eastwood Frame Coater. Felt like spraying pea soup into the frame:



Two cans was just enough to do a single coat. The box calls for two coats, so I might reprise this later. This spring, the exterior of the fame will be getting a coat of KBS RustSeal to complement the interior coating.

And finally got around to an "after" pic for my Tundra / 906 lift while I was out there.

After (Tundra Coil Front + OME 906 Rear, Bilstein 5100's both ends):



Ended up being 2" of lift and 0.5" of rake, pretty much exactly what I wanted. No more rubbing, and rides great.

6 quarts of Mobil 1 5W30 , tried to change my fuel filter but front nut is stuck on and so i soaked it with PB blaster and will repeat daily until i either break the fuel line or get it loose.

Changed out rear diff fluid and power steering fluid. Boy,you never really get that gear oil smell out of your head,bleh.

Went out in a tshirt and swapped out my cheapo fuse block that I had mounted to the top of the under hood fuse box with a weather resistant blue sea fuse block.

Took out arm rest/center console thing and drilled a small hole in the bottom and mounted a nice dual 12v / dual USB thing in there. Ran new 10 gauge wire from new fuse block, through firewall grommet, under drivers foot well, and hard wired that sucker.

I mentioned tshirt because 20 minutes later I noticed it felt significantly colder, then started flurrying, and now is snowing. wtf

And yesterday removed a giant storage bin that was hogging space in the rear, filled with recovery related crap to a new bin on the roof, and moved solar panel underneath the rack instead of on top. Bin is drilled on bottom and attached to rack, but also has rubber straps as backup.

Panel will do fine under there, and it's easy enough to remove should I be parked camping in one spot for a couple days and want to aim it.

Got sick of my Hella spots, so got some Cree 2x3s on CBI ditch light mounts (which I still need to wire) and a 20" Cree bar for the bumper that is already exceeding my expectations! Absolutely awesome for the money! Super bright. Time will tell with long term weatherproofing/quality

Routed it thru the console so I can hide the iPod in the armrest instead of just having it lay down by the shifter. Need to clean up the hole a little, but that's going to wait until I decide if I'm staying with this H/U or not.

It's the small things that make me happy, lol. Next up is a universal holster.

Painted replacement rear bumper flat black, then installed it. Thinking about painting gas lid flat black, and still need to repaint step pad.

Nice. I always carry a hand gun with as well. I keep a full mag and 50 rounds in the glove box just in case.

I was gonna take my dremel router bit and shave down a U shape on either side of the arm rest base, like factory cars have.

Then I figured I'd just drill through the awkard cubby to the left of my e-brake (99, not sure what years had that setup). Dremel died though so I didn't finish that bit up. MicroUSB and Apple Lightning cables are small enough that I don't feel bad drilling a hole to accommodate them, but anything that I plug in to the 12v ports I'll have to either leave arm rest ajar or do plan A. Honestly I only use 12v ports for USB (now null issue) or inverter, and I have plenty of other places to plug in the inverter at this point.

I've thought of that option as well, but I need to be a little more inconspicuous when I don't have it on person. For those times I have it when I'm not supposed to, ya know?

I replaced the steering rack bushings. What a *****! I did this years ago on my previous tacoma and I don't remember it being so difficult. That top bolt was horrible to access. Took me 5 hours, needed a breaker bar, got snowed on...awesome. Happy to be done!

That's a very bad spot to keep your gun. I predict when LEOs come up to your window after pulling you over or for say a DUI checkpoint they are going to see that and freak the f#ck out, perhaps even draw down on you before you get a chance to explain. Not a good idea at all man.

It's actually very hidden from up. Actually most of the time its in my IWB holster, but for long drives I take it out.

But I've gone over that scenario in my head. First thing is informing the officer immediately I'm a concealed carry permit holder and my gun is right there. What would you like me to do officer?

Alternatively, I'd probably just holster it quick, and still inform the officer I'm a permit holder, as he/she probably noticed me shuffling around.

As always, keeping the hands visible and informing the officer is a great thing. My friend who's been a police officer for a few years says I shouldn't have any problems, but definitely inform.

Either way I'm not too worried.



Back on topic, I got my 4runner washed before the temperature warmed up and the salt started eating at my 4runner. I found a touch less car wash in town for $20 monthly unlimited washes.
