Finally ordered my cbi front bumper, anyone know the turn around times?

You know there is a million mile warranty on k&n filtrrs right? They will replace it if it is old or damaged. I woukd get the old one warrantied out the, when you get the new one take it back with your receipt to where you bought the new one and get your money back.

Mounted my ax to my roll bar. I now have the ax, shovel, fire extinguisher, and maglite all mounted (maglite is above the drivers door in picture 2). Last I need to mount the Hi-Lift jack on the right side then build my removable shelf.

As a firefighter and a licensed extinguisher technician, it kills me to see that extinguisher in there. You have an awesome 4Runner with some great mods. I hope you'll spend a little extra for a quality extinguisher and ditch that one. If you ever have to use it, it cannot be serviced and will have to be thrown away anyhow.

Not trying to start anything, just offering some wisdom based on my professional experience. Again, great 4Runner you have there.

I knew they offered that but since I bought it from a friend and not myself I figured i was screwed since he lost the receipt. No worries I have this one now so we should be covered for next time.

For the price I'd have no problem with it being disposable. What would a commercial unit of the same size and rating get him other than a metal handle and nozzle (for the practical everyday user)? Also what is your take on automotive extinguishers and their BC (not including A) rating? This might be a topic for another post.

It looks to be a Kidde brand extinguisher. They are sold at many places, along with First Alert. People assume these are quality brands but those of us who service extinguishers know they are far from it. If you doubt this, take a look on the steel columns in a place like Home Depot and see what they have protecting the store versus what they stock on the shelves. You will see brands like Amerex, Ansul (Sentry), and Badger.

We see so many Kidde, First Alert and Buckeye extinguishers that have leaked down from the factory before being taken out of the box. Even the ones that appear to be in good working order often have gauges that are bad. I can't begin to tell you how many stories I have heard from customers who went to use one of these cheap extinguishers, only to find that nothing came out of the nozzle or hose even when the arrow was in the green on the gauge.

I'm all for saving money on parts, but I don't think safety equipment is the place to do it. Not everybody needs or can afford a clean agent extinguisher, but if you are going to save money by sticking with a dry chem extinguisher, you should at least have the peace of mind to know that it will work when you need it. I wouldn't have much hope anyone's life or property could be saved by a plastic head Kidde fire extinguisher, much less trust it in a time of need.

Blacked out emblems all the emblems today.
Used 3 coats of flat black spray paint. Goo gone, hair dryer, plastic box cutter, and elbow grease for the residue. 3m emblem adhesive for the final touch. Left tape on the emblems for about 30 min after applying the glue. Turned out pretty good!

Thank you for the information; I never would have knew. It was a gift. I take safety very serious. I travel with not only my family in mind but fellow drivers. Funny enough two days after mounting the fire extinguisher I went on a road trip but we took my girlfriends car and sure enough a truck caught fire RIGHT next to us. The electrical connection between his truck and camper burst into flames. We were able to flag him to the side of the road and called the authorities for him. I was bummed we weren't in the 4Runner!

Anyway what would be the appropriate fire extinguisher?
