That's weird, what is that piece that is peeling? Is thought that area was all glass up front. It's like a plastic cover? For what purpose?

white rocket;1958494Bought a Rockford sub/amp/box combo from Amazon for $180. Had a shop run wires(I'm lazy) and I hooked up everything up this morning. Pretty good bass considering what it is and how much it cost. Has separate bass control as well. Very removable too said:

Reflective coating placed on the inside edge of the glass lens. Can peel over time with age/heat/etc.

Replaced a replacement Oreilys Mastercraft CV axle (originally replaced in 09, boot tore).
This new one looks better.
Took all of 20 minutes, excluding wire brushing the LBJ bolts to aid in applying new blue Loctite.

Did my oil change and first driveway alignment. Ever since last alignment my truck has wondered a little, slightly off steering wheel and pulled when braking. So decided to check alignment via measuring and fishing line running from back tires to front. Aligning front to the rear found one tire with major positive toe and other with slightly positive toe which explains the wondering. Damn to Big O!! Who didn't give me read out. I set both front tires to 1/16" negative toe and steering is straight solid at 75mph and brakes great now. Saved me $70. Love it.
I gave the rig some much needed attention today and plan on more tomorrow. I want to get some spring cleaning/maintenance knocked out before I begin my "shop space hogging" next project, a Tacoma frame swap.
Today...
-Changed oil and filter. FYI, for anyone that uses Wix filters (fuel, air, oil) and lives near a Parts City they have a great sale going on right now. I walked out with five Wix oil filters for less than $17.
-Polished my six spokes up that I stripped the clear coat off of last year due to nasty corrosion starting to form. They all held up great and required minimal cleaning except the two that were in the spare location for part of the winter months, damn "liquid car eater" the DOT puts on the roads. Polish of choice for chrome bumpers and raw aluminum wheels is White Diamond metal polish in a bottle. I have tried half a dozen or so polishes, Mother's included and White Diamond is the best IMO.
-Performed a five tire rotation (matching rim). While inspecting my BFG Rugged Terrain tires for abnormal wear I noticed they are already starting to weather check/crack at the base of the knobs! All five of these tires were made in February or March of 2014 and they are already cracking...WTH BFG? I am going to go talk to the shop on Monday to see what BFG will do for me. In the past I had the same issue with some BFG All-Terrains on my Tacoma and they credited me for a new set. Is anyone else experiencing this with their tires? It might be time to starting looking at other manufactures as I am starting to see a trend.

There are amateur write ups for all sorts of things in my build thread, table of contents post 2. This one is not in the table yet but it is at the end of the thread currently.
Yesterday I drilled a couple more holes into the truck body for the air lead and electric. Still need to order those bits and pieces. Thinking a single gauge pod for the pressure gauge and switch, don't want to obstruct any of my view but can't think of where else to go with it.

Installed my LED automatic hood light and replaced the reverse bulbs with t4 bulbs, Updated on my build thread :frog:
