Just pulled it in the garage for some minor surgery. Ote, ite, lbj, wheel spacers, panhard drop bracket, and boot stretching.

Unloading truck full after truck full of stuff in to your new garage when moving... not recommended.

I let all this crap fester for 2 months until yesterday (put up some wall storage stuff last week but still had entire middle of garage filled with boxes that had tipped over and whatever). 4runner now finally has a home after a 12 hour cleaning marathon, some more fasttracks, and a bunch of shelving. Not organized but at least she's indoors and I can get some long overdue maintenance done. In air conditioning. Will be the first car work I've ever done where I wasn't sweating my balls off laying in a parking lot, street, or exposed driveway.

Got everything done but the drop bracket. I see why folks say to weld them on. Oh well. The front end on this thing has to be the easiest thing in the world to work on. I've never gone through a front end that effortlessly. I love working on this thing.

Yeah both sides have bad boots. They were like that before the lift. Planning to instal a diff drop at some point so I will prolly tackle them at the same time. For now I just deal with the grease.

99 Highlander with 201K miles. Per the sticker on the engine, the timing belt was last replaced 10 years ago at 115K miles. I figured it was about time to do it again. Plus there was a dry bearing noise that was coming and going on the front of the engine (worse in cold weather).

So timing belt/water pump/tensioners/belts/radiator hoses/heater hoses/oil cooler hoses. It was a long day. Those smaller hoses are half of the hassle. Not fun getting to those little spring clips buried deep in down next to the motor, not fun getting the hoses that have been stuck on there for 16 years off either. The timing belt/water pump part was a snap.

Only dangling task left was the A/C tensioner pulley, I had a lot of parts ready to go but not that one. It was a bit rough and noisy. Couldn't get another one on the weekend, but on the plus side it's easy to get to even with everything back together again, so I'll just replace that later.

Got tired of everyone turning and looking at me every time I turned, so I got out the little sledge and massaged the pinch welds. Managed to somehow tweak my back taking the wheels off. This getting old crap sucks.

What surprises me is just how much rubbing I've got going on. Stock suspension, 5 stars, and 265/75/16 Duratracs, and they rub on the pinch welds, rubbed a hole clean through the fender liner, and there was a huge shiny spot on the frame from full lock left turns. I wasn't expecting anywhere near this much rubbing from going from a 265/70 to a 265/75, but it's just that much more incentive to lift.

Easy day for me, all I did was change the transmission fluid and put on a new air filter. Going to install a lift and some 285 75/16 in 2 weeks, that will be a fun weekend. Oh yea, new radiator and Tundra brakes soon thereafter.....actually may do the radiator first as that worries me.

thats odd, mine don't rub at all and my springs sag

Mine rub going backwards full turn up a bump and they did nub my limited flares lower bolt head so I took it off made sure they were still secure and now no rubbing

It depends on the tire. More aggressive tires tend to run a little large.

That's what I'm thinking it is. Next time tires are due, I'm definitely going with something a bit less aggressive than E range Duratracs. Hard to argue with only paying $600 for them during the Discount Tire eBay sale though. They're not wearing very quickly though since I've only managed to put less than 10k on the truck in 2 years DDing it.
