I went and gave a guy $800 and drove my truck home.... without the howl/grind the rear end was making before. I feel bad for the old chap though, he spent half of today messing with it and I called him at 3 to see how it was going. He said "well it's all rebuilt and quiet and running great but now the locker won't engage."
me "Did you put it in 4lo?"
him "oh crap really?"
Yeah, poor guy lol. He's put some electric lockers in jeeps and such but hasn't messed with the Toyota one yet. He said after 35 years of rebuilding diffs this was the best designed optional locker he has seen and that he believes it should hold up better than even an ARB, I was like "YEEEESSSSS!" lol

Sigh... I ordered a B&M 70264 SuperCooler Automatic Transmission Cooler last night from Amazon. It had free next day prime delivery. I got a message that it was delivered. I got home, and no box anywhere... F*%#!! I am going to start mailing myself boxes of dog shit. Take THAT neighborhood thieves! Let me catch someone, please. I would like to pressure wash the flesh from their bones.:banana:

Well here's my story. SO I have 2 sun roof deflectors, one weather tech and one Toyota one for a Camry. Both of them are originally for a Camry. The hard ware from the weathertech one was too short since I had technically ordered a deflector for an 09 camry off of their website. (The cutout in the roofs were shaped a little different in 2001 camry's) I eventually found a wrecked camry and was able to use the Toyota hardware off of it to mount the weathertech one on my camry. I just found a guy on here who was selling a toyota deflector and the oem hardware for the 4runner. Well he broke the deflector and shipped me the hardware so I was finally able to get the deflector on my 4runner.
Largest issue with all of this is the factory hardware is discontinued so there are finite ones left. If you can find any older toyota that has the sunroof deflector (I would say 95-2002 camry, 4runner, avalon) I would grab the hardware that mounts it in since I know the sunroofs are all basically the same shape.

fixed the after market headunit power antenna problem.
I was sick of the Power antenna always coming up whenever i turned on my car. And i was sick of having to keep an eye on it whenever riding on trails so i finally installed a switch to stop it from doing this.

Pretty creative using the pre existing fuse cover hole. Does the switch actually snap into that opening or is it loose? I recently added an antenna switch myself next to the head unit since I rarely need my antenna up.

With the specific switch I used it fits pretty good in there but I put two small screws on the sides to secure it in place better. The one downside is that its hard to open the fuse box now (have to use a flat head) but better than having to cut out squares somewhere to put the switch in. I might re do it if I come across a factory fog light switch.

Odd request, can I get a photo of the back of that? Mine is loose and before taking it apart, I wanted to see what sort of fastener it used in the upper right corner.

i have 1 96-98 bezel... that I'm afraid to put on (after line-x) because its not as wide...
and
i have a 99-02 bezel but with a broken key hole thingy..
i have one trick up my sleeve for when i finally pull the trigger to line-x the rear surround...

Welp, I got my LED light-bar installed finally. 32" 180w LED Light-bar (from eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/171253574614 )
Ok, so a short review of the light-bar. Yes, I'm THAT guy who doesn't mind voiding a warranty to investigate.
Right when I got it, I plugged her in to make sure it worked, and had NO dead LED's. So far so good.
The lens had the normally thick saran wrap anti scratch protector on it. Usually you just peel it off, and go. Not on this one. Si I took off the bezels, and removed the plastic lens. Not a bad piece, I expected less for the price. I sat it aside, while I investigate further. Onto the internals, I was pleasantly surprised to find the internals in really good order. Everything was installed, soldered, clearanced, and connected properly. Including the heat-sink assembly for LED's and PCB components. Weather sealing of the end caps, and internal to external power harness was great. Back to the lens. My only complaint was the bezels that hold the lens. The screws are responsible for maintaining pressure of the lens which contacts the sealing gasket. These screws were all finger tight! Since I removed the lens, all the screws were properly installed. Every screw on the unit was treated to Loctite 242 "Blue", the bezel screws, end cap screws. Every thing.
Sorry, I managed not to take any "during" photos.
The light-bar is mounted on the front 3 supports of my Surco roof rack. I used a piece of 2" x 36" x 1/8" steel stock to make a bracket. The led bar misses the Surco rack supports by an inch on each side (damn, that would have been convenient wouldn't it?) Oh well, a moment of thinking, and a piece of steel stock later, and BAM, mounting bracket made. I used, 3 3/8" bolts with 1-1/2" washers (on both sides), and lock nuts to mount the bracket to the rack *(over kill, but hey, anything worth doing is worth over doing).
Switch is installed in the larger 2 switch hole above the driver fuse box in cab. Lighted switch (har har, not like you'll miss noticing the light is on, even in the daylight.)
Last pic does the light bar NO justice. The LED has a 30* spot in center, and 60* floods on the outer section of the light assembly. The last photo, for some reason (Auto ISO, and white balance) really dims out the LED bar. The LED bar is about 9 times brighter than the headlights. (which also need to be re-aimed now that my lift has settled).
