What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I tightened down the Built Right UCAs to the proper 87 ft lbs, and added some dry lube to them, and got rid of lots of the squeak.

Still getting a mysterious clunk. Checked the half shafts up front, they are nice and tight, so I don't know. It almost sounds like the spring is making the clunk, but I don't know how that could be.

Noticed these valve cover bolts weren't on very tight at all. Anyone know the specs on these?

Probably on the website or you should talk to built right customer service. You know, they should give you ALL the information you need.

The clunk isn't coming from the UCAs, its coming from something else. The Truck Shop in San Diego did give me all the information that I needed. They have been a great help since I bought the UCAs.

jstim when does the clunk happen? I have a clunk that is a bad driveshaft u joint.
jacknanita55 here is what I was thinking of. Maybe you could use your flaps and these caps and make something good looking and functional.
Rjsimeon The torque spec is in the torque thread. It is like 14 INCH pounds. Probably just hand tight. Don't overtighten it or your valve cover will crack and be more headache than you want.

I had a clunk when shifting from D to R 7 and some very loud noise when I drove at highway speeds. It was my front U joint. I replaced both front and rear and it solved my problems.

Yesterday I added LED tail lights, clear corners, and turn signals. I also made it to where the door chime doesn't go off when the keys are in ignition and the drivers door is open. Now I can listen to music while working on the truck without that annoying chime.

Its at 30mph or below, and small bumps. It makes a metallic thunk sound.

Today I learned to be cautious when spraying the throttle body with throttle body cleaner. Make sure to use a clean rag to absorb any runoff so it doesn't spill into the lovely little opening at the bottom of your throttle body, that's you Idle Air Control. I gummed mine up from the runoff. Mechanic took it apart and cleaned the piss out of it as he doesn't believe in replacing things if unnecessary, he also doesn't believe a part like that should cost over $100. I now owe him a wheeling trip and beers.

Took the rig out to collect the first load of firewood of the season.

Took the doors off to start my half door build. So much fun with no doors. Especially with the weather we're having here in Georgia! Hate if you want!

It could be slightly better on the very edge of both sides. I've used them in my previous four vehicles and never had much of a complaint. For muddy bike wheels and a hairy Siberian Husky I can deal with a little sloppiness at the edge. As a bonus the cargo area was not the cleanest from the previous owner, now the floor of the entire car looks great!

I love my Weathertechs, but for the money, they could fit better.
I hated the lip in the back. So did my German Shepherd dogs, so I cut it down and fixed it under the plastic door sill thingy. Also cut out the spots for the D rings. Now I like it real good, and my dogs don't hesitate to jump in the back for trips.

I'm noticing yours are a little different design, they look shallower, and the four D ring cutouts seem different. Mine also didn't have that bump out at the rear, so they kinda left a gap between the mat and the cargo hatch. design change much?
