today I only installed magnafine in line transmission filter
went for a drive
came home and washed it
tomorrow im gonna go cruise the junkyards with my son, he needs parts for his taco..... I don't "need" anything....but youll never know what you can find

Started my radiator support swap out but found the factory installed support welded to the fender well and the battery area well area. Taking it into the body shop tomorrow see what they can do to help me r/r the new one I thought it was a bolt on piece
I thought wrong! More to follow. Damage was from PO.

looks nice. Headed that way in a few weeks. my youngest (31) just moved to Seattle. I will take the long way there or back, but will hit Rainier one way or another

interior dash leds (part 1) and new sport 17's
Good weekend. Fall weather finally starting to show up, had to take advantage. The first half of the leds for my dash swap arrived, and since the rest are coming from China (sorry) and I couldn't wait, I went ahead and put them in. The digital temp controls are now complete. Really happy! Love the color. Breaking down the dash was surprisingly quick and painless, just took a while to get the leds that didn't come from superbrightleds.com to fit; the plastic tabs were slightly too big and required some "assistance."
Also, big upgrade for me: Finally got my craigslist beauties primed, plastidipped and painted to my liking. I mimicked a 4th gen owner on here whose name I forget who suggested spray painting on top of plastidip for added strength. Almost kept the black look but decided for a more factory-looking rustoleum hammered grey which turned out awesome imo. The wheels came with Pirelli Scorpion ATR 265/65/17 tires with over 3/4 tread left, so as bad as I needed new tires these drive great and will tide me over for a while. Up next today, steering rack poly bushings!

But it's gonna be awesome, better looking, and more functional than any vehicle you could have got for the total cost of mods and the 4Runner. At least that's what I keep telling myself...

oh thats so sad. having to park the car away, safe from the salt. I put it in gear and move to the warmer climates where salt is non existent.

What is this salt you speak of? Here in Alabama we just throw sand on the ice for tractions and ransack every grocery store at the sound of "snow" or "ice" on the local news.

Oklahoma can't afford to keep the street lights on, let alone distribute salt or sand. Winter's are like the Purge here; everyone for themselves!
ha! I got mine cheap enough... and have spent 3 times what I initially spent on the truck to get it fixed up to stock condition! But, like Unner said still way less than half the price of a new 4runner, which is a lot less trucky. If I were to buy a new SUV today it would probably be an Xterra but at 35000 CAD I'm way ahead of the game with the 4runner, which I like better.

Not today, but this weekend I changed the oil. Hard to believe she's got 177k miles. Some pics from last weekend driving down some Alabama back roads because I hate sitting in traffic and that's all Birmingham is on Fridays... She did pretty good going up some fairly large hills and handled great through the twisties. Stopped by this old abandoned building to grab a few pictures. I think she needs an AOR plate bumper upfront next.

Got tired of the antenna going up all the time after aftermarket stereo install so put a switch to make it go up if needed. Never listen to radio so this switch may go to better use like fog/driving lights or something.

Got some 13WL calipers and some rusty rotors and pads off of a 2003 Sequoia parts car for $100 total! Cleaned the calipers first then painted them. Installed everything smoothly, but the rotors are too far gone. I thought the rust could just be light surface rust and would not impact the braking surface, but it is not smooth enough. Ordered some new rotors and pads online and will be installing them in the next few days. Caliper install went smooth. No issues!
