Got some 13WL calipers and some rusty rotors and pads off of a 2003 Sequoia parts car for $100 total!

pretty ballsy installing used rusty rotors without even getting them turned first. glad you're replacing them and the pads.

Not today, but this weekend I changed the oil. Hard to believe she's got 177k miles. Some pics from last weekend driving down some Alabama back roads because I hate sitting in traffic and that's all Birmingham is on Fridays... She did pretty good going up some fairly large hills and handled great through the twisties. Stopped by this old abandoned building to grab a few pictures. I think she needs an AOR plate bumper upfront next.



I love the shadow when the sun is low on the horizon.

Junkyard finds

Went looking for Tundra calipers, came away with pair of limited rear mudflaps I'm going to attempt to trim and make fit the front and this Pioneer T1806 HU out of a 2005 Scion Xb. Still repairing the aux and ipod ports i had to cut out but the radio sounds great and love the color changing screen. Essentially plugnplay save for some light trimming on the back of the dash.

Just dropped her off at the autobody shop. I was rear ended on the highway 1 week after getting her from Japan and just now having the repairs done. Can't wait to get her back!

They are fixing the bottom corner of the liftgate, the rear quarter panel, replacing and painting the bumper and mudflap.

What do you mean by repairing the aux and iPod ports? I'm considering swapping out my pioneer FHX820BS for something simple and more OEM. I may go this route so I'm curious what you needed to modify.

Finished swapping out the radiator support ,changed out the headlights, side markers, grill and generally corrected the PO'S shoddy repair job. ZERO squeeks and rattles up front.

What do you mean by repairing the aux and iPod ports? I'm considering swapping out my pioneer FHX820BS for something simple and more OEM. I may go this route so I'm curious what you needed to modify.

When I removed the HU from the donor Xb, I wasn't able to get the entire length of wire to the aux and ipod jacks (they are located near the e-brake). Basically I could pull the wires out save for the area within the actual dash. I didn't have the right tools and I was sweaty and tired, so I cut what I could reach out, which was about 1.5 feet from both ends (HU side and plug side). Yesterday I soldered the two ends back together of the aux jack and it works/sounds fine (no buzzing). I may skip repairing the ipod cord as I found this Scion Pioneer Radio Apple iPod Interface Cable SC12235 | eBay

So if you don't do a hatchet job on the wires on the stuff you find, then disregard that part of my post. The only thing you will have to slightly modify for the HU to fit is a little dremel trimming around the back of the dash piece, two small areas on each side of the HU face (that would otherwise interfere with two insertion points for the dash piece) and two little notches for the power and eject buttons which are wider than the double din opening of our trucks. Other than that, just remove the old deck and plug the new one in: easy!

I want to replace my battery terminals to be ready to accept the last wire when I'm ready. Does anyone know off-hand what the neg battery wire size is so I can get the correct ring terminal without having to buy a couple of different sizes? Thanks!
