What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

LOL! Will do. I wanted to get the wiring upgraded as I have an Addicted plate bumper and Warn M8000 coming to me in a few weeks. I also need to get a new battery as mine is on its last legs. Figure I'll be going with the Diehard Platinum Marine.
Here's a pic of the negative to chassis ground and the new negative terminal after being soldered on. This will have to do until I get the last wire installed

That's not rust, that's still Colorado and Utah.
Replaced this
because grease seepage rapidly progressing and peace of mind and because chicken.
No driveability issue, no wandering, no clunks.
They had 50,000 miles on them and are an oem Toyota part from the dealership in town.
In hand they feel loose but not sloppy. I did not bother to check them while on the truck because I am not taking the chance anyway.
Some things I'll wait on, some I will not.
Found this:
GM horn in original Toyota horn spot. It's heavier and has apparently taken a toll. Too many washboard roads!
The one next to the Toyota horn on the other side shows no sign of stress at all.
Used a little scrap of aluminum to spread the stress a bit...
Will wait and watch and go from there.
Got d-ring bushings so no floppy d-rings. Painted 'em up pretty too.

The weekend before flying to SE Asia for a month I decided to go camping instead.
This is a VERY flattering picture and doesn't show just how bad the past 17 years and 220k miles have been to the paint and body. I've had this truck for a little over 3 years and have done the Tundra brakes and front Bilsteins, replaced some badly damaged interior pieces, timing belt, and a bunch of front end steering and suspension components.
I was back in Philly for 3 weeks and was hired by a client in Alabama for a short term project. He has a little bit of space and a lot of tools to do work, so I brought my truck down for a little refresh.
There are a few more things left to do before I call this a wrap, but I'm super jazzed on the results so far!

Changed my external tranny filter after 3 years and...
only about 12,000 miles though. I have a magnetic filter attached to it I found in the junkyard on an old Camaro in 2010. Nothing but little fine particles in the filter and one little strand from the torque converter. Put on a Mobil m1-209, added some more fluid and called it a day :driving:

Pulled those nasty ass running boards today, and got her up on the lift to do some hardcore scraping and grinding of the rust on the frame. Whoever had her before me didn't love her much.
Hours of scraping/grinding to go, followed by rust converter and rhino liner or 3M rubberized spray, and a little welding to mend the frame where it rusted through.

Bought me a '98 SR5 w/ 133K today - what to do next?
Hey folks, well, I'm one of you now. Just grabbed a '98 SR5 RWD and I'm getting ready to ship it to Costa Rica, where I now live. I have to get it looked at but it seems the valve cover gaskets are leaking and a turning signal light is out. There's bound to be a few more maintenance issues. Any advice on what I should look for? Thank you!

Picked up a first gen supercharger this weekend and the seller also threw in a set of JBA headers. I can't wait to install it! :lookout:
