Where did you happen to get the short throw kit?
I found one many many months ago but can't remember where

There are a few of them out there, but the URD kit is only $110 right now, so I ordered it yesterday. The reviews are pretty positive.

I installed a rear view camera today... Visibility it quite low with the ol' Duratrac covering 2/3 of my rear window.

Honestly, I am kinda disappointed. It's one of those ones that is angled, but it appears to be angled too much so I am basically staring at the ground 3ft behind my 4runner. With that, the green yellow and red lines are useless.

In this picture my spare tire and jerry can holder are actually over the hood of my pickup.

Not really sure what to do. Perhaps a wedge on the rear of the camera? I don't know.

The camera I chose doesn't have night vision (which I didn't want- those cameras seems real bulky unless you spend the big bucks), but is supposed to have nearly HD quality in the daylight. Tomorrow I'll test that.

Why don't you try these parking sensors? This was probably the cheapest and most useful mod thus far.

Although there is a gauge w/ sound, I've hidden it underneath the seats so it's completely hidden. After a week or so, I can park within inches.

Put a wheelskin on and its pretty nice. People arent joking when they say its a pain in the ass to stitch up though. Took about 2 hours.

Yea, I hear you.

I didn't actually drill 2inch holes in the bumper. I drilled two little 1/8 inch holes per sensor underneath the bumper then zip-tied them.

CBI Hybrid seem to have bars so I can look for ways to zip tie them w/o drilling holes.

One of the reasons I only go by the auditory (beeps faster as object nears) is because I still wanted to be looking around and be aware of the surroundings. I just had to understand the limits of the sensors and use it as a complimentary system. Same reason why I am not a fan of the backup camera, as it tends to draw the driver's attention to the screen instead of looking around.

They were cheap and return is easy on Amazon so I just tried it, but loving them since ever since.

Added flush mount LED's to the rear bumper. Wired up the rear defrost switches for the from and rear lights. Need to paint the bumped silver.

Where can I find the silver metallic paint on an aerosol can. I just hit a dent out of my front bumper and bondo it and can't find paint anywhere. Duplicolor doesn't even sell it.

Yesterday at just shy of 159,000 miles it was time to get my lovely CA SMOG check.. Passed easily. Love when that happens.

Where can I find the silver metallic paint on an aerosol can. I just hit a dent out of my front bumper and bondo it and can't find paint anywhere. Duplicolor doesn't even sell it.

I tried to eyeball it and failed...

Closer to the body color. I just got a can of the duplicolor Toyota silver metallic. Once the rain stops I'll report back.

For what it's worth... The manager at O'reiley said the Toyota silver is proprietary and duplicolor can't make it.
