What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Replaced and relocated trans cooler and added an inline filter. The previous owner had already done the trans cooler and even installed it between the rad and condenser but had only secured it at the bottom end of the cooler. The top end was loose and swinging, smacking my rad and condenser causing potential damage. Pulled it and installed this new one on the front. I know, it's not the B & M, but I already had this on my extra parts shelf in the garage. The install was super easy. After I took this pic I shortened the hose between cooler and filter to reduce the angles of the bends and ensure good flow. Also moved the hose clamp closer to the filter.

Removed the front diff and half shafts, and removed the rear diff.

I now have hurty arms.

I also realised that the front and rear diffs, apart from the main dashboard and doors and tailgate are the only things I've not taken apart on my truck!

Today I got the emissions done on my '96. It had been sitting for more than a year where I'd start it every month or two because of a blow rear diff (replaced last weekend). Even after that the 20 year old beast passed CO emissions with flying colors. Gotta love a Toyota.

Also received a Pioneer head unit and ARB tire inflation kit from Amazon and a rear extended brake line and washer reservoir relocation kit from Sonoran Steel.

Thursday I started my bumper build. New tires and spare rim came in last week too.

Got 85% through my TBU, ran into some issues. Got the parts on order. Painted my new battery box.

Looks like I will likely need a new front bumper, but, he said for me to get a quote from a body shop, and that he would give me a check. Perhaps, its already time for a front plate bumper already??(Only had the truck for 2 weeks haha) I really like the look of the 4x innovations.

Time to start looking at pictures.

Yeah, I really like the 4xinnovations and the schrockworks. But the 4x is more price friendly.

Just need to decide if I would want the grill hoop or not. I don't like the headlight guards though.

Recently moved so I'm using the phone GPS a lot lately. Wanted to get a cell phone holder to make it easier to see while driving, but all the ones at the store seemed to weak for offroad use. Went ahead and splurged on a RAM mount. This thing is awesome and makes life so much easier. I'll have to get a larger cradle for my offroad GPS specific tablet but for now this one is fine for the cell phone.

I didn't really find any drive belt write ups except the yotatech one. Would anyone be interested if I did a write up? I was able to do it without taking some of the stuff off that thread suggests... saved some time.

Those are the AT3's right? I almost got a set of those. Ended up going with the ST Maxx, but might get the AT3's next time. Looks great man, can't wait to see them on the truck!

Began sanding for paint. Windows are now up all trim taped, and both sides sanded. Need to yank rear tail lights, headlights and corner lights, and the roof rack channels (some sort of torx that I probably have, somewhere). Then I can finish sanding, do a little hand sanding right around the trim, fix some rust under windshield gasket, and paint.

AKA I have a long way to go.

Painting flat single stage desert tan from my 30 gal compressor that I've used all of once since purchasing 6 months ago. Will refresh all my SR5 cladding crap in satin black and respray my bumper too.

Shoved some rope under the windshield gasket to elevate it. This isn't gonna be an easy fix and I'd prefer have the windshield pulled for the occasion but screw it. Pretty sure I can't make it any worse.
