What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Cleaned MAF sensor, removed old driver, passenger, rear seat and cargo liners, replaced all with Weathertech.

Took a picture of it, because I thought it looked good. Then got a little upset because of the front bumper after someone backed into it.

Then got really happy, because I'm ordering a 4xinnovations front bumper at the end of the week with someone else's money, because said person backed into me. haha

Got the muffler installed this past weekend. There is definitely a drone between 1800-2000 rpm. Above or below that range is fine. Although whenever I'm driving my music is turned up so it's a non-issue :guitar3:

I love the tone though, now my truck actually sounds like a truck

awesome... been driving for a few weeks now, the note has changed over the time since install... or at least I've gotten used to it. agree on the drone... I'm gonna find a cheap way to get rid of it.

Usually the easiest way to fix a drone is to have a muffler shop install a resonator. I've heard on the forum here that a resonator from a Tundra (I am not sure which year) works really well.

I put my front swaybar back on using Energy Suspension endlinks. I really like how well it handles. Going to run it for awhile and make my decision to keep it on or not.

Rebuilt calipers and painted with POR15 caliper paint.

A scrap piece of 2x6 holds the calipers almost perfect.

While I was at Bestbuy to grab my copy of Star Wars, I grabbed a new Kenwood deck to replace my busted radio. Should be in tomorrow.

In other news, as much as I hate living in Massachusetts, I like that I can renew my registration online. Renewed my bikes registration a few minutes ago and parts should be in tomorrow for that. I love having multiple projects at the same time...:redbrick:

I'll try to take a video of it today... I wonder if it's because I had a TRD exhaust and replaced the muffler on it with the Borla? The routing is the same, I think the diameter is just a little bigger.

That or maybe I don't understand what drone is =p

New Gears On The Way

Yea, so I pulled the trigger on fully assembled diffs. What was I thinking? No lockers. I figure Maxtrax was a much cheaper option. Exhaust is next before the SC.

It did use a Borla, a drone in that RPM range isn't bad. At least for me, my cruising RPM's are always higher than that.

No its not bad at all actually. Thats around 50 mph give or take on your gearing and tire size.

It did, but the one I replaced it with is considerably different in size- much smaller. I thought it was going to be much louder, but I guess my old one was so shot that it was barely functioning.

Remember, TRD has used probably 5 different manufacturers that they have put their TRD logo on for this exhaust. One was Borla, one was B&B tri flow, etc. etc.

Installed the new Kenwood deck today. Its nice having a radio again. Also cleaned the glove box from all of the urine from the rodents... Now I can finally put my dash back together.
