What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Removed old vinyl and replaced with leather stitch on. Found this one at pep boys. Had a $10 rewards card, this was $17. Figured it is well worth the $7 investment. I cut and peeled old factory cover off. The factory cover extends into the arms so I just used electrical tape to cover the pad there and stitched the new cover over. I love the feel and that it is the same thickness as the factory one. This leather claims to be sheepskin. It is very tough. I pulled very hard on the stitch after each lace and had no stretching of the holes. Took me almost two hours to finish. I started with the bottom seam at 6 o'clock. With the pulling of the lace it slowly rotated about an inch out by the time I was done. Still happy with it, I had rubber tape before.

Any pics of what the wheel looked like after you peeled the old factory cover off, before the new leather? My wheel is gross and far beyond repair. I'm planning on a paracord wrap, but haven't thought about stripping the old stuff off first, until now.

You might want to paint those calipers. I have the same reman'd ones from AA, I painted mine...but others' have rusted pretty quickly

No sorry, it's just a dense yellow foam. I just cut the the old stitching, pretty much disintegrated anyway, and peeled right off.

Haha I'll take that as a compliment! Nope, but a few people have asked me that already. Given some time to finalize my design and become proficient at making them, I may, but for now I need to concentrate on all of my other projects.

Nothing special, added some EDC tools to it. Jumper cables, a cheap tool set. Screw drivers, Allen wrenches, metric and standard sockets and wrenches, ratchet, duck tape, zip ties. A large shock proof flash light mounted I'm the rear storage, a cheap OBDII scanner. And a "Jeep"(It was free!) brand offroad bag with ratchet straps, tow straps, tree saver, D rings, line damper, gloves, and snatch block. Up front in the center console I put a red/white headlamp, and a heavy duty snap on multitool.

Thanks, no write up but added a pic (that I posted before) of the underhood wiring. The breakers are Blue sea systems, the one at the main batt and outside of battery box are 100 amp and the one inside the box is 60amp. No isolator, I like to manually isolate by tripping the breaker on the outside of the box or just leaving them connected. The battery box is super easy to customize. Was able to fit a 500w Fosgate amp in there as well.

I'll have to do some research. I've got a couple deep cycle batteries laying around I could put to use.

Did a home 'flush' of my transmission fluid by draining and filling it one quart at a time out of the transmission cooler (engine running) and into the transmission dipstick tube (engine off). My old fluid smelled fine but was very dark red to black. Replaced 15 qts using this method with new Walmart SuperTech Dex III fluid. By the end, the fluid coming out looked much, much better.

The only time I noticed the transmission was the shift from first to second on a very slow acceleration. After switching out the fluid it is perfectly smooth there! Cool to feel a difference.
