What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Over the past week I wrapped up my front end overhaul with new lower control arms. Took a little trip up to Lockett Meadow In Flagstaff. Nothing crazy as far as wheeling goes. Just some highway miles and forest service roads to get a feel for the new front end. Feels fantastic. Also, got to test the new Falkens in some wet weather. They also felt great.

Hahaha other than the wheels, he kept it clean for the 15 years that he had it. No rust either.

So I tinted my front windows to match the back. I have to say that the truck feels like a cave now and I really dig it. Seems to help a bit with keeping it cool inside as I found I could turn the a/c fan down a bit and still keep it cool. Plus now that my studly mug is hidden from those outside, no more screaming hords of hot chicks chasing me around parking lots and irritating my wife....yup

I also finally decided on a spot for my new GPS. I wanted it near the dash but hated the idea of window mounts. I like this spot the best as it is high enough to be able to quickly glance at, but not so high as to block my view. Now I just need to hard wire it through the center dash.

Finally got some time and put on my rare black pearl emblems. They look amazing!

Also acquired some 18" 06-09 Limited V8 4Runner rims with street tires (crappy I know.) Not sure what size I'll buy next either 17" or 18".

Yeah decided to keep it for now. Put a lot of work into it recently. Doesn't need anything. I ordered new lower ball joints today from the Dealer to put on soon as preventative maintenance.

I picked up those rims with TPS sensors for next to nothing.

Oh ok. Yeah I remember you had basically PERFECT maintenance when it was for sale. I always appreciate your help on my questions.

How is life adjustment in Utah? Will you be a MOAB regular?

It does ever since I bought it with 110,000 miles. Drove it home with 1/2 of one of the belts. Next day I put new belts, fuel filter, transmission fluid, and spark plugs in it. PO kept up on oil changes regularly though.

I just changed my entire throttle body recently because the TPS was acting up. Found one with less than 100,000 miles and threw it in.

Since my last post, some changes have been made, I painted my rims flat black after being indecisive if i wanted to or not. I like how they turned out.

Got my Overland Bound Emblem on the driver side quarter panel.

I also built a low-pro mount for a hi-lift that fits the OEM roof rails. I will probably being doing a DIY post here pretty soon.

I like the Gumby license plate mod! Is that legal in Texas?

Front license plates are inconvient so I don't run one at all. I've yet to be pulled over for it though in CA.

I haven't been pulled so far. The letters are visible for the most part, and you can make out what the numbers and letters are. Thats all that matters right? olice:

These got delivered the other day. I am slowly moving towards gathering parts for my lift. I should be in a position to start ordering most of what I need within a month or so. Part of me really likes the SS, at least the rear 1.2, but I might be up for mixing and matching Toytec Boss COs with 1.2 rear, but we'll see. Anybody run this set up?

In other news, my CEL, CSV TRAC lights cleared themselves. They seem to come and go. That, and I seem to have found the "just right" amount of ATF post installation of my transmission cooler.

Found this the other day. It's the string off of a set of window blinds. Not sure if it was sabotage or a freak occurrence. Either way, I'm lucky it didn't take out my axle boot, lbj boot, or brake line
