What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Picked it back up from the shop. They welded the rear diff leak, tightened the sway bar link, and changed the fuel pump. It starts in an instant now!
Unfortunately the battery had frozen while it was at the shop, so I had to put in a new battery. Also topped off my brake fluid (intermittent brake light went away).
I brought it on a road trip to my in-laws to test it out before my long trip home next week. It's running very well. I still can't figure out the cruise control not working though.

Hahahaha! Then my dumpster diving was not in vain. Thanks for checking! I winced a bit when the garbage truck grabbed my bin. LOL. I might get the skids painted this weekend and my Stubbs sliders welded on. Any plans for painting?

I'm still up in the air about paint. The lazy side of me says just throw them on and beat them up. The other side of me says paint them blue. The Relentless bumper will be painted matte black when it gets here. The winch will possibly have blue line and I plan on using some blue shackles on the recovery points. So it would look pretty good to have the skids blue as well.
I need to pull the rig into the garage and prep out the frame rail for the Stubbs sliders this weekend. I got a guy to weld them up sometime this coming week and I told him I'd take care of the prep. While it's in there it'll be really hard not to just throw the skids on.

Took her out in the mud to search for a giant elk thats been spotted in the area for a few weeks now. Also sounds like a mountain lion or two has followed the deer down from the northern country. No luck. Only saw deer track. However getting some mud time in before work is never a bad day.

I cleaned my seats today. My shampooer is broken so I did it the old fashioned way. 1/2 cup of ammonia and a few drops of dish soap in 1/2 gallon of warm water. Scrubbed it on with the soft bristle brush, extracted it with my shop vac.
It worked very, very well! Better than commercial cleaning solution and the shampooer. Stains came out that were still there when I cleaned the seats a year ago and it raised the nap so the seats look like new. I think it's because I can scrub back and forth with the brush where the shampooer is rotary.

Nice job, and thanks for the tips on the cleaning solution. I might have to try that. I've always liked the cloth base model seats, very comfy :thumb3:

Lots of progress until I realized one of the valve covers I had off a few weeks ago to replace the gaskets was cracked......... :flamethrwoer2:

I need to still check the extended rear differential breather off my list. Looks good man! Was it pretty easy to route the breather in that 10 o'clock position? I have read that that is the go-to location for 2001/2002 4runners due to a slightly larger fuel filler neck.

Yeah it was extremely easy. I left a little slack between the axle and the body of the truck for when I lift it, and other than that I zip tied it to the fuel line and filler neck in a few places and that was pretty much it.
I full well expected the factory breather to fight me coming off of the axle, but it came right off with a ratchet, which I was pleasantly surprised.

Well I was supposed to prep out the frame rails for my slider install. Instead I went climbing all day. To make it up to the rig I put two winches in my Amazon cart. Now to toss a coin. lol

Yup, finally did it, Toytec Boss 3" Lift kit. Sits so much nicer now.
Rides nice hwy, back roads, and Florida trails. Doubt it will get tested to potential, but like to know it's there if I need it.
