What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

badass

whats the purpose of rear full float conversion.

There are a couple of advantages, including and formost in my mind you go from a semi-float (weight being carried on a single tapered bearing and consequently the axle shaft itself) to a full float rear end which carries the weight of the truck on two tapered bearings and a hub so none of the weight is carried on the axle shaft itself. Also it removes any play in the bearings so that the rear brake conversion is much easier. And gives a better seal so there is no rear axle seal issues. And if you do happen to break a rear axle shaft you can still drive home without having the axle come out of the housing. And it is wicked cool to have a 1 ton axle in the rear of the Runner. There are several on here that have done the conversion I am not the first.

That is pretty cool. If you don't mind me asking. It sounds expensive! You have SAS in front ?

Finished my lift and installed new weather tech mats and cargo liner

Out with the old, in with the new. I couldn't wait until the weekend so I swapped out the 2002 cup holders/console after work today.

BTW, I have a 3D printed cup holder now I don't need. I bought it this Christmas and realized I finally got a good deal on the 99+ cup holders.
Where'd you move the buttons to?

Discovered a button that I can't figure out what it does... It's in the center console above the drive mode switch, across from the window switch. It's a momentary rocker switch (operates like windows/sunroof), looks OEM.

Anyone have any ideas?

Will post pics when I get back home this evening.

This was the switch in question...

Thank you and yes LC 8 wraps are front Landcruiser coils. Not sure which color combo I have.
The parts I used were:
Bilstein 5100 rear: 24-100144
Bilstein 5100 front: 24-261425
Toytec/Eibach coils: 112-620
LC 8 wraps
The 24-261425 dust boot doesn't fit inside the toytec springs so I cut it off and kept the metal spacer that is attached to the boot. You also have to change the rear lower shock bushings to 3/4" bushings.

Thank you!!

It is a little pricey but I think it is worth it. So the Kit if from Front Range Off-Road Fabrication and if found here. Cost is $700 for the kit and then you need to source some other parts.

Full-Floater Conversion - Front Range Off-Road Fabrication

I don't have a SAS yet but it may come in the future. I also have an 84 crawler that has a solid front axle.

Throttle cable slack

Today I realized I had alot of play at my throttle petal... (Partially making it hard to shift proper at times)
Looked under hood first to check throttle cable, noticed about a half inch of play, so I headed to my pedal.
Two zip ties later and my pedal is stiff as new!!! One around the wire for the slack and one around the rubber stop that has been squished to death to compress it and stiffen it a little:)
Much easier to shift and feel the pedal now

Upgraded to 17" Trail Editions for $50!

...Well technically $400 (which is a smoking deal up here)...but I just sold my old Split Spokes and Grabber AT2's for $350

Sunday, yesterday and today were finally the days I got my lift, wheels and tires put on! :biggrin2:

3" Toytec coilovers in the front
1" Diff drop
LX450 Coils in the rear with 5125 Bilsteins
Sonoran Steel adjustable panhard bar
FJ80 wheels
285/75/16 Toyo A/Ts

Really happy with the stance. I do have some bags of sand in the back to compensate for the bumper I haven't installed yet to get an idea where it will land.
