What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Calipers

I do this every time I rotate my tires, which coincidentally is every time I change my oil....a good practice to follow.

Anyone know if worn calipers cause rotors to feel like they are warped? I have had the issue of rotors feeling warped changed them and the brakes and they still did the same thing.

I'm in Kenai Alaska. I get parts cheaper and faster from Toyota of Dallas then I do from Anchorage. I've tried giving Anchorage several chances and each time was unsatisfied with cost or attitude.

Not sure about Fairbanks though.

Just went down to Harbor Freight in Bellingham today. H O L Y C O W cheap, even with the exchange rate.

I ordered inner tie rods from them cuz no one came close to the price in the states but the BJ's and outers I got on Amazon cuz they were pretty cheap.

I just swapped all that new stuff in the past two days. I was surprised how easy it was to do even with 154k miles of rust-belt driving.

Yup, they beat every other price by a mile and came recommended from many other members. I figured I would just order it all from them since shipping didn't go up much and they were still cheaper on every part cost.

Small stuff I just go local but a big project like this, I save a few hundred going through them. Worth the wait for a full time, broke PA student.

Looks like we will have a decent weather for a bit and spray washing the engine compartment and the underside of our runner and our other rides is a must. Can't trust the snow removal chemicals and salt they county use.

Last night I finished up my hidden winch/under bumper winch.

Today I had some help from a friend and did the Deckplate mod and also put a new muffler on. The Borla PRO xs 19 inch sounds much better, at least right off the bat. The 14" magnaflow was loud for my taste. It sounded good, but was too loud.

Today was a good one

Cleaned the MAF and did a clean of the TB

Flushed the trans fluid...needed it BAD

Replaced the rear passenger seat belt that the previous owner cut.

Changed air filter

My father in law has a heated garage. My next house NEEDS one of those.

Haven't been driving it lately, tried to start it last night and battery was dead; so I jumped it, let it run for about 15-20 minutes, then connected a charger and let it slow charge (2 amps) overnight. It cranked and started no problem today, took it for a ride to get some lunch.

It's too damn cold to do any wrenching :nono: I still have to replace the long bolt to one of the accessory belt tensioners since it's stripped past a certain point, can't get enough tension on it so there's an annoying squeal when cold.

Does wrecking it count? Saturday AM was spent doing a nice oil change, changed out the fuel filter, and pumped a little grease into the zerks. By 2pm, my 4Runner was on its roof. Worst part was I wasn't even doing anything dumb - it was raining, I was being cautious and went around a curve and the back end went out from me. (Only myself/vehicle in the wreck - luckily no one else was around) The rest is history

I'll take any advice too on what some of you guys might do. Obviously I am waiting on insurance to be back in the office Monday, but the worst part is between busted out windows and a bent outward door, the inside is probably soaked/flooded from the rain all last night. I'll be "eager" to see what insurance values it at. Sad part is, the drivetrain and everything was in great condition - only 158K on the 3.4 and the 5speed tranny.

I feel like a dumbass for the wreck and I know it's just a vehicle, but it still sucks I took another 3rd gen out of the population.
