What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Successfully swapped upper and lower seat foam and fabric, driver for passenger. My drivers seat has 266k miles on it, the passenger seat considerably less. Even swapped over the pass seatbelt sensor to remain in it's original/proper location. Added some foam to both seats in the lumbar area. It wasn't difficult but took some time, about 3 hours total. Other than the time involved, this is a free upgrade.




Still needs a good steam clean but now I can enjoy my "new" drivers seat. Note the small pocket that is now accessible for the driver.




Will be doing a rear axle seal today. -Justin

I did my rear suspension. New 99 tall Moog coils and lightly used KYB gas adjust shocks from Unner. Of course I forgot the 'before' picture.

I frigging love living in Texas. 0 rust and the top shock bolts came off with ease with an 8" long 14mm standard wrench.
Just braced the wrench on the nut and grabbed the shock with my bare hands and turned. I did liberally soak it with PB Blaster during the week but still.

I have had my 4Runner almost a month now. I just read this and thought I'd go outside and check this out. I found 1 unused condom and a picture of some odd high school kid.

I'm thankful my wife did not find this compartment when she drove it to her mother's the other night.

Changed the oil, put in a Fumoto valve, pumped some grease into the upper SPC ball joints, cleaned the engine, and did the rear dif breather mod/extended thru gas filler area.
Wanted to grease the drive shaft joints but the zerks would take any grease, prolly need to replace them.

Damn it. Now I have to add the Fumoto to the list of never ending shit to do to the rig.

Hit the zerks with some de-greaser, then hit them with a tiny bit of liquid wrench. Then take a paper clip and try to push the ball in. That usually frees up stuck zerks for me.

Did oil change on wife's and my 4runner. Cleaned her off so my welder don't have to deal with mud installing my muffler and tip tomorrow. Will post video tomorrow.

Replaced the parking brake cable and bell cranks, and the rear O2 sensor... Swapped out the factory head unit for an Kenwood with BT... And then adjusted the brakes before we got muddy.

A lot of bumper mounts slide over the end of the frame rails and they won't fit if you have that stock frame plate attached. For my addicted offroad bumper, I just ground down the edges of the frame plate. Nothing too crazy

Got you. Guess I'm lucky and savage made it so you don't. I only heard that it's for 99+ that you have to.

Relentless Fabrication out of Reno, NV. It's a b!tchin looking bumper and it's beefy as hell. Be prepared to do some cutting, grinding and welding if you go with them though. lol

I also recently replaced my factory head unit with a Kenwood with BT. Couldn't believe the sound quality difference, even with the 16 yr old original speakers. Night and day difference. :thumb

Testing out my acrylic fab skills. I've never even played with this stuff before. It's a bit tedious but it formed a lot easier then I was anticipating. I'll paint it black so it blends before the final install.

Replaced the carpet....original stuff was stained all over and FUNKY. Slow, tedious deal to get the new stuff in nice and flat. Put some sound deadener in underneath too. Looks nice and definitely quieter inside now. My tweaked wrist wasn't too happy with the project, but nothing a jack and coke or 3 can't fix.

On a much much exciting note- clicked "pay now" for a 2nd gen supercharger I bought on Ebay! :whoo:
