What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I just put on some OME 906 rear coils with factory Bilstein FJ80 shocks, which were recommended by a mechanic I was talking to as a less expensive option. The rear shocks are a little to long for the coils so I could have a problem of them coming lose while on rough terrain. I put on Bilstein 5100 in the front with around a 2" lift, the rear coils are supposed to be at 2"s as well but after measuring the front sits about an inch higher. Im trying to locate some spacers for the rear to raise it an inch, leveling it out verse lowering the front a clip since the rear spacers might fix my issue with the rear shocks and I won't have to go with limiter straps. Anyone know where I could find these? I can't seem to.

I tore off all the old leather on my steering wheel. Holy shit — it was nasty as hell under there! 20 years of hand funk I guess. :shrug: The outside looked just as bad when I got it too– spent days scrubbing it until I though it was clean — never realized it would be nasty underneath as well.

Anyways — I'm glad that's gone...

I went 30 over factory and 40 over front

I went 20% on the front... It's just a hair lighter than the back, hardly noticeable. I'm a little OCD so I like them to match.

Oh it's a grimey-spongy mess that you wouldn't want to be putting your hands on. There's also a little glue residue I believe. Nasty.

I'm actually putting new leather on. It hasn't been fun process and I'm debating whether to post about the experience I had with the company and the processes of installing it. Spent about 6 hours hand-stitching it last night.

I just need to finish it up today.

Here is part of the first section. It's probably the best section and only took me about an hour and a half to stitch it. Those bumps you see are just the finger groves on the back of the wheel and not bumpy/lumpy leather.

It took me around 4-5 hours putting my wheelskins leather cover on. The toughest part was trying to stretch the leather out in order for the stitches to be fully closed. My factory steering wheel cover was in good shape and I just put the wheelskins over it which may have been why I was struggling with getting it in place. I think it was well worth it. I like the added thickness it gives my steering wheel.

I'd like to to that to my wheel but it's down to bare metal. I don't know how it got that way, whether the previous owner had a dog yet didn't see one or he must've had killer road rage.

started doing my rock lights under the truck. Green color in the fenders, and white under. So 4 green above wheels, and 4 white right next to the wheels.



using 16g wire. I just put both inside the drill and twisted them together.


Started on the driver side and going form font to back and round. First set of wires...


Must be wondering how i am going to run my wires?


INSIDE MY FRAME! I dont really care about water, because the wire is sealed anyways. This is driver side..


Just currently tucked them aside till i get back to it. Im pointing with my finger as to where i am going to mount my white leds. Same goes for the back one. I think its perfect, near the tires and it will right up the ground.

tryin to fix HOT rear (driver) Drum... can't post new Thread

Im a noob but have truned a few wrenches in my day, a little welding, confabblin all kind o stuff.

i first watched a few Utubes' on both fronts and back brakes before diving in...Did front and rear brake shoes pads, seemed great... i stupidly yanked on the parkin brake thinking "gee i gotta adjust those backs" well.... maybe NOT!!

driver rear drum got so HOT the alum mag wheel was hot also!!

Got the 2 screwdriver fix on my rear driver drum 2 loosen up the shoes and now she'll coast where as before she would idle to a complete stop... while its better... driver side drum still hotter than the other rear drum, pedal feels lower too so i don't want to spin a ma thing the adjuster too much more... COMMENTS QUESTIONS HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED SORRY 4 screaming just now...

Are you concerned about the frame rubbing the insulation off the wires over time?

Nope, frame doesn't really move. I'm going to put wire loom over it in that area.

Thanks bud. I put fluid film on. And every time I go off roading. I spray wd-40 on my rocker panels, front suspension, and bottom of my doors.
