Just went with a 1". Thought about the 1.5 but I decided that it'd be too much with the suspension lift. Don't know why, but that's what I came to as a conclusion. I don't plan on running 35's but who knows, right?

His Paypal was down so I mentioned it to him in the thread and got it back up in a few minutes of talking. So far I'd say his service is great!

Right on. Ya was happy with the service. Quick reply via email when I had a question. Hopefully will be installing my mine within the next week or so. Ya I'm not planning on running 35's yet either but who knows. The 285/75/16 I've got now rub so hoping that will be solved.

Installed some LED interior light bulbs that I got off of amazon. The dome lights were easy, the map lights took a little more effort. Nice light output though and less of a drain in case my kid leaves the dome light on.

I dropped it off this morning to have the magnaflow 18" installed. I won't bother posting a phone video of sound. But I will say it's quiet, however you know it's there. I recorded an in cab video with the windows up. You hear it, but with the windows up its faint. There's more road noise and traffic noise that over powers the sound. Overall I'm very pleased with it.

Where about in LA do you live? I'm in Palmdale and it get stupid hot in the summer and freezing cold in the winter. Weird as it sounds, we've gotten snow this past winter. We should meet up sometime. I got no 4Runner friends. Lol

Just like [MENTION=124615]3bears[/MENTION] said, it'll about where you live. I could live without ac to a certain extent, same goes with the heater. I guess you can say, adapt to climate change.

Got my AC system evacuated, tested (pressure and vacuum) and charged for $95 out the door today.

They recovered 0.32 lbs and charged it with 1.54 lbs. Its much cooler now

They recommended I change my radiator, to be safe.

Replaced the fuel filter and mounted my new wheels. I quickly changed the obnoxious Level 8 center cap with something more fitting. Clearly I still have some tire prep to do.

I actually modified the stock center caps. I used acetone to remove the Level 8 logo. It came off easily without damaging the painted finish of the cap. I ordered the TRD stickers off eBay in the appropriate size. At about $1 each I'll replace them over time as they get messed up. If the factory TRD caps were available in gunmetal I would have gone that route. I just thought this looked better than the mix of finishes.

If you get a chance, stick a thermometer in there and see how cool it reads. I've been curious to see how other 4Runners do in comparison to mine which seems to bounce between 39*-40*. You're in California too so conditions are similar to me. I'm curious if mine will go colder if I refresh the system too.

I never thought of acetone
I used a sticker to cover the 8 then added the same red TRD sticker over the top.
Now I'll remove and try your approach [emoji1417]

also spent $1,700 and finally got long list of things done,
1.) Timing belt, water pump, belt kit.
2.) radiator and hoses
3.) L/R valve cover gasket
4.) plugs and wires
Asked him to check all bushings and ball joints, said they're fine for now, #roadtrip soon

back to shop, pretty sure the new lines from trans to rad were not tight enough and leaked.
Since its back at shop decided to have them change out all 17 year old fluid and brake job that i was planning on doing but money is time and I have no time

I'm still learning bout my 4Runner...why do a manual hub conversion? My '99 auto 4WD, my son's '92 5spd 4WD and my previous '90 5sp 4WD all do not have manual hubs. What's the advantage of having manual hubs?

I'm also wondering this
Stronger??
Cause I've had manual hubs before
And it blows having to get out and lock them every time.
Especially when your already in a mud pit that you didn't think was that deal and could make it in 2wd.

The manual hub CV shafts are a tiny bit weaker - like tiny.

Whys - mine were: less wear on CV shafts since they don't rotate all the time and installed a front full-time locker. Some will say increased mpgs but my gain in this area was about .7 mpg.

Primarily because I added the front full-time locker.
