What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Not what I did, but what I WANT to do:

I have a 200 SR5 2WD with the 15 inch wheels. Thinking of putting 31X10.50R15 tires on it, specifically the Bridgestone - Dueler A/T REVO 2's

I know there will be slight decrease in MPG and speedometer, but other than that this should work perfectly with no other alterations, correct? Does anyone have any experience with this tire? I am tired of the puny looking 225's that sit on it now.

Then it's on to a stereo replacement (any suggestions?) and fixing that darn stuck antenna...

Everything you're looking for is well documented here. I run the same tire size by Hankook on stock rims and put a Pioneer stereo in lieu of factory.

Do some searches, take lots of notes and have fun!

You can put in a speedo healer if you want to return the speedo to reading correct.

So many of us dream/fantasize of that day or one similar!! I love my job, great boss, when I decide to retire....there will be a few customers who get told exactly what I think of them and their project the last couple of weeks!!! It will be so worth it....the best part is the boss will laugh and say at least I don't have to fire you now.

So the TBU got put on hold till tomorrow. I pulled the rear drums to have a look. I'm pretty glad I did. Less than 1/16th on one of the shoes. It was off to NAPA for the shoes then the ever so fun rear brakes. For those of you that have never done them you should. They're really fun. In a I'm gonna throw this spring seat clip 100 yards type of fun. I almost broke down and went and borrowed a buddies spring tool but I managed the old school way. Swearing and muscle. lol

Installed small yellow led's so I would avoid a ticket due to Swingaway blocking the driver turn signal

Installed a set Of OBX headers. To my surprise they fit perfect.

Are those headers for the 3.4L or the 2.7L ?
They look really nice!

I've never taken my 4runner to a mechanic for anything – but I'm almost tempted to pay some other sorry sap to do this one thing for me while I sit back and relax.

Got SR5 flares installed on my base truck today. Swapped 99 and up console in for the glorious cupholders. Finished up some odds and ends in preparation for the bumper.

its actually pretty easy with some extensions and swivels, I would personally rebuild it.

Bottle jack is seeing about ~900 lb's on one corner of the vehicle with 3 tires on the ground. Not the smartest idea in the world, but if the guy doesn't have tools (although I think I saw an impact tool) then it's not the absolute worst idea ever lol.

If it failed, he could still probably crawl out the other side safely. Collapsed height has to count for something :brushteeth:

Welded these in and replaced axles that were much needed boots were torn to shreds.
Now hopefully I don't crawl under there in the morning and see grease from the drive home
I should have tightened or replaced the factory boot clamps, but didn't think of it until just now.
I wasn't too impressed with the fit of the gussets but it wasn't anything I couldn't fix with a hammer.
I also lowered the front coilovers one full turn and it actually did a full half inch. Now the truck sits exactly how I wanted. [emoji1419][emoji41]

If this freaks you out
I do commercial tires and lift semi trucks from the pumpkin and remove all 4 drive tires
Or
Just do one jack in the middle front axle and do both steer tires
All in mud, sand, dirt, gravel, on the side of the hwy at a huge slant. wherever the truck or trailer happens to be parked.
It's not as scary as you think
I guess yes it could happen but you could also walk out your front door and get struck by lightning.
