Finished stitching on the $8 LemonBest steering wheel cover, after peeling off the last factory ripped chunks last weekend. Perfect.

And this 4Runner sub box...that a previous 4R owner gave me "these are rare". No idea how or why, but it's perfection.

Perfect with the Alpine he also had, and the Alpine amp in front:

Wrapped up the rear suspension to match the front. Bilstein 5100s with Moog talls all around.
Other than having to violently rip out the OEM shocks things went smoothly.

LemonBest on Amazon is black only and meant to go over the factory leather.

Haha well my tranny gone at 168k! Gunna cost me 3500 including the core for a reman at my local toyota dealership. :nono: There goes my funds for my cbi rear bumper..

Shop a good tranny shop on a rebuilt....should be able to find one considerably less than that with 3yr high mileage warranty. Maybe not in your area....but that is really expensive for ours.

Changed the brake pads. Probably should have changed them sooner. The wear indicator did nothing, I drive with the windows down at 30 to 40 mph. It looks like it just broke off.

What did you do to your 3rd gen today?

Got to put a few rocks under her. I've had the truck damn near 12 years and never crawled it (I want to keep her clean) She did great. The 4.88's and rear ARB didn't flinch. Got a few rocks rashes on the wheels but that's what their made for.

Had about 10 toyotas and 3 jeeps and a Chevy.

That is correct. Same exact syptoms experienced when it failed too. Talked with [MENTION=120071]mtbtim[/MENTION] and he discussed it with iptperformance and they said it seemed to be a common failure with the 01-02.

Currently working on finishing up my DIY rack. 8020.net extruded aluminum with 1/4" aluminum sides. Still need to finish up a fairing for the front. So far I'm happy with the results.

I'm going to make up my own DIY full length roof rack too. I am wondering if there is any advantage to making it flat, or can it just follow the curved contour of the roof, which I would prefer. Does an awning or RTT need a flat rack to mount to? Or could I use some different brackets to mount to a curved rack?

So I was thinking about those brake pads I just changed and at the time I thought something was missing but I paid no attention to it. Looking at google images of 3rd gen brake pads I realized that I am missing the little spring clip on both wheels that goes in between the pads. Stolen google image below....

So where did they go? Could they have melted off? I did overheat my brakes pretty bad last year at one point.

no they don't melt off, someone left them out on a pad swap I would beleive

New RPM Bumper Pics As Requested

Any chance you could post some photos of the bumper from straight out front, and slightly further away? I'm trying to decide between this bumper and Relentless's front bumper, but there are almost no photos of the RPM one since it's so new.
