Used it to go here and catch some of these. Also had the A/T temp light come on for the first time. Bigger tires and 4.10 gears are a *****. Fluid is clear and not burnt so I let it cool down and used low range. Keep in mind the elevation gain is almost 6000' in 4 miles so I'm not worried about it. lol

Fixed skid brace as mentioned,, installed stock skids for the first time, aimed new projectors, installed drivers side 3/8 spacer to level truck and 10mm spacer on the rear. It has 1/4" of rake now and sits dead nuts level with me in the drivers seat. Took this pic for someone asking what Ray 10's look like on a 3rd gen so here it is..

I was just airing down today and was thinking of an easier way. Pun intended. This is my set up.

You push that little button on the side and it acts as a deflator. It takes me about 2 minutes a wheel to go from street pressure(38 PSI) to trail pressure(18 PSI). It takes me ARB compressor less time to air them back up. lol

I like that it does both air up and down. That makes sense. Less gear to keep track of.

I am a big fan of the SCS Ray 10s. I gotta keep an eye out for one of those high-speed sport hoods. I know it doesn't do anything, but I think they look great on our 3rd gens and yours, is no exception.

Thanks. The prior owner decided to use the factory hood as a ladder and put massive dents in it placing stuff on the roof haha. So I knew early on I was going to find an OEM sport hood and try my best to match the single stage white Toyota paint. Got it matched pretty damn close even down to factory orange peel.

I ended up getting my hood (OEM) for $125 through a friends body shop and he painted it for another $125. Can't beat that investment.

I'm guessing with the coloring on that one if you parked close to that lake it's a Brook Trout and if you had to park and hike up higher in elevation it's a Golden Trout? Headed up to that general area later this summer for some backcountry fishing and looking to get the Eastern Sierra Trout slam. Golden, Brook, Brown and Rainbow all in one day! :fishing:.

I put a holster into the center console for when I make longer drives and don't want to have it on my person. I don't know how often I'll actually use it, but why not. These images make my 4Runner look a lot dirtier than it is. I swear its not the bad lol.

It's a Golden. Not a hybrid but a pure strain Golden. And yes it's a bit of hiking to get to the lake.

I've gotten the Slam quite a few times. It's pretty easy to do around here. Goldens are obviously the crux of it. If you need any beta shoot me a PM. I've climbed and fished all over the Sierra Range. If your backpacking in and have a few days you could get into some big Goldens with a little effort.

I had an opportunity to try out my new ARB E-Z Deflator. I tried to hammer out all my Discount Tire woes yesterday.

Reimbursement for replacing 3 cross threaded tire lugs. A brand new free BFG KO2 285/75/16 spare. Five wheel tire rotation begun. ( 4X Innovations rear swing out bumper should be done by the end of the month). And they put new spline lugs on.

I was fueling up and decided to double check my tire pressure. Last time I was in there, they set them at 35psi. So I figured that is what the new tire would be at. Nope. 80psi!! No wonder why my drive to work felt a bit harsher than normal.

I can't complain too much. They stepped up to make things right and comped me a tire, so that's about $250 I didn't have to spend.

Anyway, I got a chance to bust out the ARB E-Z Tire Deflector and figure it out. It is a pretty cool piece of gear. I am glad I checked. Tires are too expensive to have to buy any sooner than necessary.

I have the same arb tool. And for some reason it wouldn't deflate the tire. VERY VERY SLOWLY. Maybe I did something wrong ??

More like what did I do to a washer today.

Finally figured out how to insert the rivnuts into my roof for the roof rack extension forward. You see online really expensive tools for setting them which seems like a real ripoff and without actually using it you don't know if it will really work or not. After some internet and Youtube research I finally figured out the system which works which is really simple and costs about $2. I will need 6 M6 rivnuts but I bought 25 to be covered, and I've already used about 5 playing around.

It consists of a 6 mm bolt, a couple washers, a 3/8" coupling nut, a 3/8" wrench and your impact gun with a socket the same size as the bolt head. And a larger washer that is the same ID as the rivnut so you can practise. The washer will function as the hole in your roof until you can figure out how to to it right.

The coupling nut is too long so cut it in half then clean up the edges. Drill out the inside threads so the 6 mm bolt slides through. Assemble all the pieces as shown in the photo with the 3/8" closed wrench around the coupling nut so it doesn't fall off.

Hand tighten the rivnut on the bottom and "insert" it into the large washer (your roof).

Hold the wrench and tighten with your 10 mm impact socket. The rivnut will squish down and compress onto the washer (your roof).

The issue here is you can see how far to tighten when it's around the washer but you can't see how far to tighten when it's in your roof and you'll want to be careful to not overtighten with the impact driver. But you can remove the assembly from the rivnut once it tightens up and look inside to see how far it comes up, then tighten some more if you need to.

Also some were off centre until I figured out how do do it cleanly (basically, with properly sized washers that don't shift to one side).

Kind of what I thought too. I had never used one before so I started by checking out a youtube video or two. It seemed to go faster for them in the video. I guess I would need to do a side by side with a control group to see what times I am working with. I just figured that it would be faster. Now, how much faster, I don't know. There are a few "real time" air downs on youtube and they seemed to knock it out faster that I did, but hey...

I guess to be fair, it is an "E-Z Deflator" and not a "Speed Deflator"

I just got done falling asleep on the "D" key, for about a page worth of "D" streaming down the page... I stared my day off at 0130 today. I am usually going to bed at 0200 or thereabouts. I think it is time for a nap. lol.

Thanks! Its my own I cobbled together by using an Xbox kinect sensor. Its pretty low resolution but helps to make sure there are no major interferences between the part that is being designed and the truck.

Ive read your thread on the snorkel design and was blown away on how you measured and modelled that fender / a pillar.

I would love to share my bumper build on here but I guess I have to get my post count up first. :Cry:

Azure blue pearl. 1996-98 and you are correct, it is a factory color. Another pic of it below.

It's sometimes mistaken for Horizon blue metallic, a more purplish blue. Those seem even fewer and further between.
