What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Mounted Rola rack, Hi-lift and traction boards. I mounted the rack close to the roof using unistrut and u-bolts as per instructions from [MENTION=143526]theesotericone[/MENTION] . I used loctite and lock washers on everything, it is rock solid. The roof itself will fail before anything comes off. Also added carbon fiber TRD decals, netting a gain of 10hp and 1 inch of lift! :rockon:

Try popping the cap and running it for a little bit (when its cold), I've had to do it to bleed air out before.

Park it on a slight uphill slope to coerce the air up and forward, out of the radiator

Today I 3D scanned the rear of my truck so I can design and build a rear bumper in CAD and have it cnc cut. Super excited to start this build.

I'd really like to see the finished product and possibly purchase if I like and if you'd make more?

I removed the torsion spring and replaced it with the tacoma clutch pedal return spring (Part #: 90507-14030). Best $4 and 5 minutes I've spent. I had been putting off replacing the bushing due to laziness. After a couple days of having to lift the pedal with my foot after shifting, I got under the dash to check it and found the bushing was entirely gone, the spring was worn about a 1/4 way through, and the bracket on the pedal was gouged deep into a jagged point. On the plus side, after the swap I remembered me how much I enjoy driving the 20 year old 4Runner again!

very cool stuff. I've used data from a variety of Romer arms and some laser stuff in my daily job; I've never been amazed at the accuracy - do you have some 'control' points to double-check the digital measurements?

Nice man. Told you it was a bomber system. Maybe I should write up a guide for it? Painting the strut was pro by the way. Mines still galvi. lol

I really like the hi-lift mounted like you have it. I'd guessing those are hi-lift mounts in the 1"-2" tubing size? I'm snooping Amazon right now.

I learned that the OEM fuel pump can last up to 426,000 miles and then fail without any warning.

Replaced with a new Denso unit so I should be good until at least 800,000 miles. imp:

Believe me I already have so many other projects planned. I just need a CNC plasma cutter and i'm set.

its pretty spot on dimension wise for how seemingly low tech it is (as far as 3d scanners go). We just put the truck on the hoist and lowered it and recorded it with the sensor in 3 different places.

I measured all the hardpoints of the truck (frame, hatch ect.) by hand and made a basic cad model and super imposed it over the scan. it fit pretty much perfectly.

I've been debating about getting an OEM wire set, but the price is steep compared to others. But now that I managed to break a couple of the plastic spark plug wire holder tab thingies off when I was peeking in at my timing belt the other day – I may just fork out the extra cash for new wires with all new clip thingies.

It's time for new plugs along with a full tune up anyways.

In fact I need a new air intake too since I just found some nice cracks in it.

The list goes on...

Couple months ago, someone posted a link to a seller on Amazon selling OEM wire sets at like $10 or something. People thought they might be repros or some other shady shit. I bought some anyways just in case they were real. I never got them though as the seller canceled my order — guess they were real but the price wasn't. Still kinda annoyed by that...

Yeah I'm thinking the same on the Air-raid intake as well. Sure I could probably pull one off a junkyard truck — but it can't be in much better shape than mine is, so it's not worth the effort. Plus I like new shiny shit under the hood every now and then.
