That's pretty cool! I wanna do the same with a remote rear-view dash cam, not so much for reversing...

How did you route the wires from the rear roof penetration to the front console?

As you can see. I went through the rear harness grommet. Then tucked it under the headliner and proceeded to route it on the passenger side. Followed the drain tube, then down to the drain tube on the passenger side. Removed the glove compartment box. And tucked the extra wire and everything else nicely behind there. Pretty simple. I didn't want to route it on driver side because I already have a lot of wires on that side. And I didn't want to install the camera through reverse gear because I want to use it whenever I want to. And because I did a 5 speed swap and never bothered to to wire up the reverse lights.

The wire is thin. So it goes behind the tailgate through the grommet. Has plenty of space so it doesn't get pinched. And I had to offset the camera because it would hit the rear LED.

Nope. Had the rear LED light bar hooked up like that for YEARS. It's bone dry. The grommet wraps around the wire pretty snug. If you want to be extra safe. Throw some silicone on it. Plus the grommet is covered by the hatch.

Better then drilling holes into your roof.

Finished up my amp install last weekend! Definitely happier with the cleaner install that I did this time.

Nice amp man. 100W RMS per channel at 4 Ohms should give you plenty of power. Play with high pass for the fronts and low pass the rears if you don't have a sub. If you do have a sub leave the rears at full. It takes a bit to tune it to your ear but it's worth it. My buddy has an oscilloscope that I put to mine after tuning it by ear. It was so close to a perfect wave I was impressed. He adjusted it to what that expensive as machine said was perfect. We both agreed it sounded better with my original settings. lol

Thanks Mike. I have definitely been putting more work into making my wiring look good. The last time around it was a rat's nest, and it was always a PITA to trace wires back. This new method has definitely helped!

Thanks dude. I was lucky enough to pull all my sound equipment off my last 4runner. I haven't changed the settings since the rollover, but whatever I had it set to before sounds great right now! The speakers in the front are 100W RMS and I was able to bridge the other channel to get 300W RMS for the sub. I have yet to put my small sub back in, but once I do I will definitely be fine tuning the amp a little more.

No pics, but put the trans cooler lines back to the radiator. PO had just looped the lines off the tranny. :frusty:

And did an oil change to find that the oil filter was loose. Maybe that's where my leak was...

99% done on my expo hitch rack. The cool part is that is slides out 16" away from the hatch so as to leave the rack installed and still allow for access into the back area. Just a few more things and I will have my to-do list done before the High Water Trail trip.

Dude, yes. I've modded an "expo style" rack as well. However, I haven't been able to figure out a solid and cost effective slide mechanism, like you have. I visited your build page and didn't see too much detail surrounding the slide itself. Any chance you'd be willing to share some more info on that slide and how it works?
