Started to replace body mount bushings. Energy suspension now offers a full kit. The rear bushings come with a nice and beefy 3/16" plate. Only got as far as drilling out all four of the rear bolts... Yeah for rust!

Got some Rigid Dually Side Shooters in the mail. Wired them up to my spots to test the output. Real install sometime this weekend hopefully.

Spent most of this morning putting in LC 8 wraps with tokico blacks. Totally had a brain fart when putting the stock PanHard Bar back in... had to rachet strap the frame to bring it an 1/8” over to the passenger side. Ordered an adjustable one today so it’ll track easier in the future. Tomorrow I’ll work on the fronts, hopefully it’ll be less of a struggle but it’s my first time doing this myself... gained a whoppin’ 4.5” and stood for about 15 minutes contemplating getting 285s and replacing the 265/75 falkens I just got put on.

Antenna! OMG, WTF, FM radio!!

It’s been a few years since my factory, power antenna
took it’s final, finishing blow from a tree limb.
The solution was outlined step by step here in the forums
but I always got distracted by other things and put it off.

For me, this is big. Like the first man discovering fire-big.

I simply just drove mine today, enjoying a decent brake pedal feel and no lights lit up on the dash board. I'm now trying to decide to keep it or sell it. I fixed everything that needed to be fixed for it to pass a legitimate state inspection and fixed the issues that had the warning lights lit up instead of pulling them from the cluster the way the PO did to me.

I used the truck to haul my kayak for a 3hr. outing yesterday, it did a great job. The kayak felt more secure strapped to this roof rack then being strapped to my CRV's roof rack.

LMAO. So, DJ's choice, commercials, and limited area is big? I'll stick with my 200GB micro-sd for music. My choice, no commercials and it'll keep playing, without static, for a cross-country road trip.

The only reason I can see to get excited about FM is NPR. You do listen to NPR don't you?

I sandblasted in the frame and some places on the axle. Did the pumpkin in case I have to drive in salt, I learned my lesson with that thing before and it will get painted very well with multiple coats since they rust so bad. Edit: In 20 min of sandblasting I did a way better job than I did on my previous axle all day with a dremel and wire wheel. This one hardly had any rust though to be fair. Thank you Harbor Freight $40 sand blaster!

back roads! That comes in handy.

My music preferences never tend to be on the

Valid point man. I almost forgot about traffic. For the last 10 years I've lived in a small town on the east side of the Sierra Nevada range. If there's 2 cars at the same stop sign, that's traffic. lol

Winter wheels

I picked up a set of Tacoma rims on CL for my winter set. I'll be replacing the older rubber they came with in a couple weeks with the General Arctic. Really not sure about the look though... at all. Trying to stay positive before I get the urge to paint em. But hey, they were cheap!

I like them but personally I would paint them black. I love black wheels with silver or white paint. Some bigger tires would help too of course.

Rigid good stuff.. I did an install few weekends back did a 20'bar and some small cubes in the bumper..

Yeah, I think that's what it'll come to. Black would be so much better. I'll probably leave them as is for the winter and do that when they come off in the spring.

Some bigger tires would help too of course.

Definitely would... but I'm not going to . I'm actually going to stick with 245/75r16 for my winters. Considering my 4cyl 5sp came with 15" wheels stock at 28.3 diameter, my summer 265/70/r17 Toyo M/T handle terribly both on road and on moderate back roads. Gears are still at 4.10 and the bilstein 4600 seem to not be able to take the weight of the larger mudders.

Just to roll a few days together:

Thursday: mounted new 265/75's
Friday: Replaced drivers side lower ball joint and tie rod
Saturday: replaced passenger side lower ball joint and tie rod and installed drivers side upper ball joint
Sunday: replaced passenger side upper ball joint

I'm exhausted. Those UBJ's did not want to come out.
