What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Went to a local salvage yard that moves inventory quickly Sunday. When I eventually managed to get a response from the computer porn watching moron behind the desk whether they had any 3rd gens in the yard, he said "dude, we don't carry anything that old anymore". I retorted by responding "dude, it isn't that old" and left, never to return.

I made the same assumption when I ordered my add-a-fuse taps, but sure enough, there are empty fuse bays with ignition power in my fuse box. I used the add-a-fuse I ordered but only installed one fuse, the one on the outgoing circuit.

EDIT: I did not use the 4WD fuse location, I used the upper left, which has no designation on the fuse legend (box with a cross through it) but there is ignition power there.

How much power does that spot draw?

That's so funny - at my local yard, it's hard to find any 4Runner newer than a '95. The '00 that I was looking for (for my console parts) was actually located in the "Primo" lot for the "fancy/new" cars, where you have to pay an extra $2 just to get in .

I put a 10A fuse in there but the camera draw is minimal. I have not calculated, measured or confirmed with the FSM - but I will receive my printed copy this week and will follow up :thumb:

Got a note from BumperSuperstore.com, my bumper was picked up in CO yesterday, arrived in OR this morning and is en route to LA and will arrive tomorrow.

rebuilt starter..(well the contacts), replaced pass side axle and am currently replacing the steering rack. (had to stop and order high and low pressure hoses..dem bisshes is stuck, lol =)

Are you mounting on the pillar or center console? Do yourself a favor and skip the red and green light caps. The whites not bright at all at night.

I'm gonna be putting it just above where the tcase shifter is so it's not completely in my face but easy to see if I want to.

And thanks for that, I peeked at the light earlier and was like holy shit that's a small light!

I debated where to put mine and ended up mounting it on the pillar with there pillar pod. It's not that in your face and it's easier for me to keep an eye on it there. Now if I could only teach my wife to look at it and understand it. lol

I also put in an after-market cooler at the same time I wired it and never see temps over 175 during summer. Today was in the 50's and it never got over 150 in my 40 mile trip to work.

That's a solid place to have it also. The pillar will have multiple uses if you ever decide to get a supercharger :eyebrows: I'm decided to put mine down by the shifter because I have my ScanGauge located just under my head unit in the dash so it's all pretty close to each other.

I also have a external cooler that bypasses the radiator completely, so I'm hoping for temps around that as well. Did you bypass yours?

I ran it in series with a new rad. Since the rad was new I wasn't worried about any milkshake scenario. I wheel enough to want to have the cooling capacity of both. I also added a 7" electric fan to the after-market cooler that I can kick on when going slow.
