Built new ground cable for my main batt to engine ground, that was the only one I did not upgrade when I did my big 5 or six or however many now

Painted the rear hitch. Now I can't help but notice how crappy the chrome bumper is .

Yup, no kidding - it is such a large area when viewed from the rear, that the faded paint just looked awful. This made a huge improvement.

I went with my new favorite paint system, POR-15. It goes on so smooth and is hard as a rock. Since the hitch was not rusted, I skipped all the rust treatment steps, and went right with light sanding and spraying with the Top Coat, Chassis Black.

Good point, that's why I went with Top Coat. The Rust Preventive Paint is not UV tolerant, the Top Coat is.

I stand corrected! I recently rust-treated my hitch and painted it also. Now my paint is fading. I may do what you did and top coat with por15 to take advantage of its rock hard properties. Do you have any long term experience with por15 and its durability?

Unfortunately not, this product is fairly new to me. I'm just going by the reviews and by the way the paint goes on. Very uniform and fast drying. Time will tell of course.

I decided my life wasn't interesting enough and chose to rear end an uber driver today. There is a bit of damage to his car, no injuries to him or his passenger - but we know how that's gonna go :cry2:

Damage to my vehicle

-satoshi grille destroyed (ordered a new grille from ebay)
-right front fender, pushed in at headlight filler panel (fixable)
-plastic clip that holds headlight filler panel at driver side fender, cracked (replace from junkyard stock)
-ARB left side bumper mount (impact absorber) crushed 1/2" inward (repair or replace)
-driver side headlight housing, mounting tab for grille clip snapped off (repair with epoxy or replace from junkyard stock)
-driver side turn signal bulb out (replace)​

No other visible damage and I should be able to replace/repair all over this weekend, except the grille, so the stock grill will go back on for now. For me this is about $100-150 worth of damage and a day of my time, my insurance premiums however, that is another story.

I just realized why I typoed cylinder head gasket. Amazon lists the valve cover gasket (11213-62020) as a Genuine Toyota 11213-62020 Cylinder Head Gasket which stimulated my brain to be dumb, because who doesn't trust Amazon blindly?

That sucks man! It could have been a lot worse though, glad everyone is ok. Will your insurance buy you a new ARB bumper? I would think no, except that I saw one for sale on Craigslist that had minor impact damage and the owner said insurance covered the cost of a new one, hence why he was selling the beat-up one.

Sorry to hear that, definitely sucks! Keep up the positive attitude though!
