I know y'all have my best interests at heart, and I do like me a bagel n coffee [MENTION=142122]96RedRunner[/MENTION], but at the time it was faster and easier to order what I could readily find. The couplers were ultra tight to slip on and it was almost like I got the wrong one because my airbox isn't bolted down with all 3 bolts because of the tightness of the airaid arm.

Thanks Mike. As I recall, "2ndhandyotaman" needs or needed that center bezel also... So, I'm guessing he got that one.
I have that one arriving, maybe even just got here (UPS just came to our front door)...
Bought my grandson a 2001 4WD SR5 on New Years Day. Over the past week we have installed new from brakes, new rear brakes, a front sway bar link, headlight bulbs, air filter, wiper blades, and rear shocks. This weekend will be a new O2 sensor and turn signal housing. Almost ready for the road....

Im going back tomorrow, it was mostly a recon mission. I did grab an auto climate control unit and the passenger seat to swap the base onto my bad drivers side. I'll honestly be surprised if the e-locker is still there tomorrow but I'll be ready to pull the axle if it is. I got a bezel and some other parts from a wrecking yard in MN last week. K&C foreign auto parts, great guy to deal with.

Didn't do it to the 4Runner per se, but I got a new heart for my tired 4Runner after figuring out why it always feels bogged down (well-below spec compression). Picked up a low mileage (124k) motor to clean up and transplant in mine.
I'm aiming to do a semi-write up on the process, once it happens.

Welcome to the club!
I would also replace the Lower Ball Joints right away, you can see on the forum that they can easily fail and when it happens... well, you don't want it to happen.
Also check the radiator, that's another good one to replace and/or complement with a tranny fluid cooler.

Finally installed the warm white LEDs for the map lights https://www.superbrightleds.com/mor...-5-smd-led-tower-ba9s-retrofit-car/2077/4722/ and the passenger dome light https://www.superbrightleds.com/mor...ed-bulb-4-smd-led-festoon-30mm-car/2107/4844/. I planned to do the trunk dome but the tailgate latch has been giving me problems and I have too much crap inside to access the latch from the trunk (already had the cover off).
The map lights were a bit of a pain to remove,same with installing the LEDs due to the increased length. They feel a bit loose in the sockets but passed my wiggle test.
Like other brand DE3175/30mm LED bulbs I've tried (Philips and Pilot) they're a little longer than the original bulbs, had to bend the slotted contact a little.
Both bulbs matched the warm white color of the stock incandescents,which is what I wanted. I can't comment yet on brightness until tonight.

Discovered I have a water leak inside after the storm we had today. Can't tell if its the sunroof drain or my door weather stripping that's bad. I will note that it takes a bit of effort to close the passenger door so perhaps the weather stripping over there is bad?

What did you do to your 3rd gen today?
Finally got my new rearview mirror mounted up. Had it wired up since right after Christmas, but never could get those install kits to hold. I’d follow the instructions and it would pop off when I went adjust the mirror. Not sure what I was doing wrong, so I took it to a shop.
