Like that - "natural clearancing"

I think I am going to move towards the Ford tank in the spare spot. Was looking at raising the tank with my body lift but the rear tank is going to be about as much work.

That's where my air tank is...not that it has to stay there.
Every rare once in awhile I think about the ford tank as an auxiliary, mostly when there's a couple of gas cans on the roof.
Hmmmm....thinking a tank skid off something like a bronco II might even be useful with some modification, assuming the ford tank doesn't sit all the way up in the frame rails?

I've looked at the bronco tank for other vehicles in the past, nice that there's an EFI pump option which could be used to transfer fuel from aux to main via a switch

23 gallons in something you could shove that tall a box into would be nice but the nearly 14" depth would be more than I'd want hanging out back there. Guess that's why people use the....what?....F150?....tanks.

Very important upgrade today, at least 5-10HP...Hi-Lift neoprene cover to Yescom neoprene cover...maybe this one will last longer than 12 months...here's to keeping the rattles to a min...

I got a Suzuki Sidekick tank that I was going to put in the back (10 gals). I may swap spots.

well today could have gone better.

in an attempt to accomplish everything front end related I was only able to complete the lower ball joints and the new front strut install.

old LBJ was removed with no issue, new LBJ went in great. removing the old upper ball joint went great, but it was then that I struggled. pressing in the new upper ball joint just wasn't gonna happen. I spent 3.5 hrs on it!!! I called to confirm I had the right part #'s, and they were correct. no matter what I tried it would not press in. finally I had enough. proceeded to re-install the old one (which pressed in with no issue) and installed the new front strut assembly. I then moved to the other side and did the same. didn't even touch the upper ball joint though.

Today the 4runner defeated me. sadly, I just do not have the time nor the patience to try it again. I will be calling shops tomorrow to see what they will quote for the upper ball joints, and maybe the steering rack bushings...maybe.

ill tackle the rear end later, unless the shop quotes is cheap.

sad day.

on the plus side, my late model glass headlights arrived, so theres that

Speakers

Re-purposed factory speaker mounts ,mounted new JL 6.5s with crossovers mounted onto the rear of the original speaker housing , had to dremel some plastic outta the way but sits flush against ccf on the door and allows window to clear on track

Bummer day, but the steering rack bushings are easy, tie rods might be another story since an alignment will be required

Not something you want to own, trust me, been on the side of the road more than one due to such. Truly, Found On Road Dead works here.

ya rack bushings should be ok, need to pull the diff drop in order to get the large bolt out of the way.

in other news, I installed my new late model headlights, with new silverstar ULTRA bulbs. the new TYC headlight assembly came with new bulbs so ill keep those as spares. definitely need to get some late model indicator housings...
