Finished buttoning up the truck yesterday, head gasket is done and all seems well. Mosquito fogged the place out when I first started it. Ran it a couple of times then drove it. Finally cleared up by the 5th mile.

Drove it 111 miles today, so far so good, knock on wood.

Installed powerstop extreme towing brakes.

Installed Yitamotor 744w lightbar, and 4x 48w pod lights around the truck.

Also installed a carbon fiber wrap to show clear coat breakdown.

Tried to put a new battery in mine earlier today... ended up frying both ground wires. Hopefully I didn't fry anything else.

Oh no, remember go slow and stop and take a break if needed. I cross treaded my high pressure line on my steering rack not stopping when I should have.

Created a used parts pile, Now she doesn't look so much like a soccer mom SUV,

Sonoran Steel 1.2, SPC UCAs, Whiteline LCA bushings, Poly Steering rack bushings. Swaybar brackets had some rusted out bolts so that still needs to be addressed. Alignment set for Wed

Currently obsessing over steering racks. I did all 4 tie rods 5 years and 40k miles ago, and it was all cheap ACDelco stuff. Now one of the inners is loose, so I'm thinking of just replacing the whole rack. I found one at www.carsteering.com for 300 with a lifetime warranty. I'm about to start using the 4runner as my tow rig for motocross bikes, so I need the steering to be in good shape.

Does anyone have experience with this site - www.carsteering.com - It looks legit, and they've got 10 racks in stock. It's the best warranty of any of the other aftermarket racks. I really plan to start using my 4runner as light off road rig too, so I''m wondering if anyone has used one, and how is it holding up?

Generally speaking warranty length is NOT an indicator of part quality. If it was then real Toyota parts would come with more than just a 12 month warranty.

AutoZone parts that are cheapest cheapest stuff from Chinese companies (whose business model is usually ripping off US and Japanese parts companies) often include a lifetime warranty. It is meaningless. They know more people sell their used cars than ever keep them long enough for the part to fail.

Trying to troublshoot a P0753 code that is haunting shift solenoid #1. Despite replacing it twice and doing the Transgo SK 340 mod. Still not engaging in D... got to start off in L and shift up to D. The Transgo install was smooth... so no issues there. Anyone else have similar issues?

- Replaced transmission fluid
- Installed a transmission cooler
- Installed speakers all around (infinity)
- Installed foxwing awning I bought off a forum member
- Took it on a 400 mile trip while towing

I bought some Bilstein struts, so getting them installed is on the to do list. Just trying to figure out what else I should look at while I’m at it
