What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I finally got around to mounting some LEDs on my hatch to use when camping at night with my fold down table. I used 6 white and 4 amber on separate circuits. The amber is supposed to attract less bugs... we'll see when summertime rolls around.

I wrapped up my Fluid-Film job after having to stop after running out of product. 1/2 gallon INSIDE the frame plus 1/3 on the visible components should do the trick. I snagged 2 gallons and 4 aerosols off of eBay.

I also removed the LBJ from the LCA to check for play or wear...nothing at all after 220,000mi as I assume they were never replaced before I bought it at ~137,000. Part of me almost wishes there was even .001" of play as I would replace them but I don't see the point in replacing still good parts. I was also hoping to find play so I could blame them on a noise I have experienced on two occasions, both RH turns.

Oh, I also imported two more sets of the GE +120 bulbs (recommended by Daniel Stern himself).

I installed Component Kicker door speakers and installed Alpine kip-455u mini amp.
Everything sounds amazing but I need to clean up all the wiring and try and improve the grounding since Im getting a Whine that goes up with the RPM'S. Ill try and gets pics for you guys since I know how important they are.

I'd love better headlights but not willing to do anything more than plug-n-play all while keeping stock reliability.

Well today I THOUGHT I was going to be replacing a front cv axel shaft but after inspecting the axel in question I couldn’t find any problems with it. So since I had the truck on jack stands I figured I’d change the oil. Drained the oil and had to go to town to get some new oil and filter. Got back to the house and went to pull the old filter out and the damn mechanic that worked on it last, tightened the hell out of it and I could not for the life of me remove it by hand. So I had to drive all the way down to the local Napa and pick up one of those filter cap socket pieces. I gave up for the day since I was so frustrated and spent a majority of my day driving to town, 3 times total and each trip costing me about an hours worth of my time :gun6:

Magnuson Supercharger Install

Installed a new Magnuson supercharger with Denso IK22 plugs. No fuel mods yet since I live at 5800 ft and it seems to be liking the 91 octane with the stock pulley so far!

I'm fininshing up a major project - 2 '96s into one - frame and running gear from 1, body and engine from another. Final problem: when I release the hand brake fully, my gauges go crazy - tac drops to 0, gas gauge shows full, ABS light comes on, but if I leave the brake on just enough to keep the idiot light on, everything works fine. Eh? What's up with that?!

Gauge cluster flex circuit board. Swap gauge clusters first to see if it fixes it... a new flex PCB should still be available from Toyota.

My first oil and filter change tonight after my purchase in October.

The last person to do this job did not over tighten the filter so that was easy off as was the oil drain plug. The ODP gasket was a bit pestiferous, but that ultimately succumbed to my putty knife.

I've changed oil in a lot of cars over the years and this is the first one in a long time where I did not have to use a floor jack, ramps, etc. The only tools used was a socket/pry bar and did not spill but a drop or two and cleanup was easy.
