Wow! Those prices kick the crap out of the PFRAN kit I bought a while back... and it looks like the same thing!

Can't say I'm familiar with that brand. I just knew when I got around to LED swaps I'd go with "the ebay special" as I have with past cars. These came with several style adapters for various light bulb styles for direct fitment

Those LED panels that you used for your dome and cargo lights, do they fit inside the factory lense or do you replace the entire factory housing with the panel?

They fit under the factory lens - on both the domes, and map lights. The panels have dual sided tape already applied to them. So I tore off just a small section of the, uh, tape cover? whatever it's called. Anyway, just a bit in the location of the screws that hold the light frame to the roof and stuck the panel to screw to hold it in place. Popped the plastic lens back on and I was all set.

And Wetokole seat covers. These things are awesome.

Also removed the running boards. Don't need em and I like the look without em.

Today I brought the '99 out of the garage.

Gave both the '03 and '99 a quick wash now that it's slightly warmer.

I also ordered a set of TRD Faux wheels in gunmetal. We'll see what they're all about when they show up later this week.

Time to start planning the suspension refresh I suppose!

Added a PCV catch can.

After finding all kinds of goop and crud build up in the intake manifolds and intake ports on the heads, I added a catch can to keep everything much cleaner in the future. (after 260k miles there's bound to be some goop in the intake, but after spending a lot of time cleaning it all out I'd like to keep it clean for a long time now)

Just a relatively cheap catch can from Amazon, but with a dab of silicone on the fittings it sealed up just fine with no vacuum leaks.

Found a hood of imperfection off a '99 at pick n' pull
It had an insert that someone mangled trying to get it off BUT my husband had pulled an insert off a different 99 with a destroyed hood ages ago so it's all good other than it would have nice to sell one of them.
I'm not sure at this point what color it's going to end up being.

I also took a chance on a shifter boots assembly out of a '99 that has no holes at all, unlike my '96's. It's hard to tell from the pic, but the '96s is exactly the same as the '99s.

I didn't have the holder screwed to the mount yet in the pic. It's from Proclip. Been using them for years in all my cars.

That mount clips perfectly into the dash. Made specifically for this truck

I keep being tempted by this mount (ProClip Center Dash Mount | ProClip USA).

My two concerns are how much it blocks the air flow (folks have said not too much) and the extra force it puts on my super-brittle-and-super-expensive-to-replace fake wood dash bezel.

I would hope you get the hood painted the same color as the rest of your rig.

Gratuitous very dirty Highlander pic, it's on my to-do for a wash and wax after a couple of years of sitting in a carport. There's a couple of scuffs but no dents, it's a limited 3.0 awd.

So not green? That blue is going to be hard to match unless someone does it custom. The Azure Blue Pearl paint code is a different blue- not as bright, lighter and more metallic- and there's the years of paint fade. I'll have to look into what's available.
I know the insert's not on it in the pic...

You can’t sacrifice that color just for a hood scoop.

Looks like those folks didn’t treat that Highlander well under their last years of ownership. I didn’t know they offered the Mr T trim package on them. My aunt had a 2004 up till last year, dog rescues and all it had over 300k when they sold it to their house cleaner for $1.

The highlander's actually in decent shape at 193,xxx miles (got the battery charged up for actual miles), but once it got parked it didn't get washed. I'll have to spiff it up for you. The interior is pretty clean too, and the leather's in good shape. They even have a big fat file of maintenance receipts from a decent garage near here. Makes me glad I do as much of my own stuff as I can!
Wow, a buck. This one belonged to our neighbor, we gave them double what salvage offered to kinda help them out without dipping too far into our extras. Hopefully it turns into a win-win, as in we get out of it what we put in. If not, it'll be fun to dig into.


Yesterday the hubby came home with his '99 4Runner running on 5 cylinders. He tested a variety of things and got it narrowed down to a bad injector. No shortage of things to do around here.
