this weirdly appeals to me, but with my own take. Also, pin-up guy :laugh:

I am digging the green hood.....this on pinup/hood art or modifications-

If I stick to the green hood (the color goes well with the blue) I'd also add green eyebrows to complete the 'stripe'.

Another look I'm interested in-
I was perusing AZBub's thread the other day.....that's another option I'd definitely pursue, it sure looks good on his truck.

Whatever I do, it's going to be a bit, between trail build season, things that need fixing in the driveway, the yard, the house, etc etc.....etc...
I'm a bit strapped for time and cash.

I've also got to find some time to try to repair the other hood insert, it's damaged but maybe do-able. Most of the part you'd see is good.

Secured the notorious rear window key switch in the tailgate bezel. Both screws had fallen out and were inside the tailgate, along with two or three shovels of dirt. The mount holes were good but I beefed them up with some epoxy, lubed all the window and lock mechanisms and washed all the dirt out after pulling the drains in the bottom. Should be good for another 21 years.

Rolled 300,000 miles on my 4runner so I treated her to some TLC...
replaced lower ball joints
replaced tie rods
replaced rack bushings
replaced rear ujoint
replaced front links and bushings with Mstudt links(bad ass)

Steering feels amazing....here's to another 300...

Snapped my front sway-bar end links and I kind of like it, so I'm going to take off the sway-bar when I get home.

Replaced the passenger fog light bulb and all 6 screws with stainless M3x0.5x20mm screws, but not before having to notch out with a Dremel 1 on each foglight in order to remove with a flathead after the originals stripped out :frusty: F those screws lol. I replaced the MAF sensor screws a couple years back for the same reason.

Also ordered some 285/75/17 KO2’s. Those go on tomorrow :reddance:

Being without a 4Runner makes you do some crazy things...

Geez what's with all this hood scoop stuff? .... I'll join the party, I finally found one, in white, off a 2003 Rav4 on car-part.com in Illinois, with all the hardware for $75 + $25 shipping. My rattle can white is a different shade, I have to repaint the hood.

Well i really did it two days ago. my fuel mileage has been poor as of late, and worse than the normal winter mileage. it was time for spark plugs anyway,so I went a little further. I replaced plugs, wires,air filter, fuel filter and cleaned the MAF. it did not seem to be running poor before this but after the tuneup it starts quicker and seems to be running smoother. will check the gas mileage at next fill to see what the change is. my 4runner is an 01. it had 160,000 when I bought it. now has 239,000. I don't think the plug wires had ever been changed. I had changed plugs when I first got it. and the fuel and air filter as well. I change the air filter at every 25,000 or sooner if it looks dirty. also change the plugs at every 25-30 thou. taking a 1500 mile road trip next week will be interesting to see the results. i keep a notebook with all service and every gas fillup and calculate fuel mileage each tank. so it is easy to refer back a couple years to compare.

I changed out my gear shift bushings and grommet. Took about an hour, followed all the advice from previous posts. Shifter is tight again .

New tires went on yesterday so some additional trimming was needed. Went from 285/70/17 KO’s to 285/75/17 KO2’s.

Acid washed my rims, painted the center caps, cleaned the MAF, and TB, then flushed the power steering system and cleaned the power steering filter screen.
