And did a little timber clearing. Mud was so slick even with wheel chocks, the Tundra was sliding so we had to anchor it off of my 4R. Tough walking even.

Engine front end routine maintenance

A few weekends ago I did the entire water pump, timing belt replacement. I purchased the entire kit off e-bay and also did the accessory belts, pulleys, spark plugs and wires, ignition coils, throttle body cleaning (it was filthy!), engine coolant replacement (not full flush, it looked really clean before), and MAF cleaned. I ended up saving a ton of money on special pulley holding tools with tips I found online. I just fabricated home-made ones in the garage.

Also, the AC was blowing hot air so I recharged the system and it seems to be holding pressure ok. Blows cold air now!

Aaaannnd. I fixed the cruise control problem I had by replacing the CC computer module with one I found in a salvage yard.

Removed the RBs in anticipation of the RSG sliders going on Wednesday.

Man, do I love AZ cars. To my knowledge, this is the first time they have been off. Other than a good cleaning after removal, even I'm amazed how good the paint and body looks behind the RBs.

Friday night I suffered an out of town fuel pump failure. Had to get it towed to the nearest dealer. You can guess the heart ache from there .
Including a new fuel filter and $150 towing bill , $ 1100.00 bucks (Canadian funds) .



Not a good day

How many miles on the fuel pump? I am debating whether or not to replace my original with 317k miles before it fails out of town.

Took the seat cushion from the passenger seat of my parts car and put in on the driver seat of my dd. WOW! Its like a new car! If you get a chance to do this, DO IT! You will find yourself listening to your Linda Ronstadt tape a bit longer just to be able to sit in your seat.

Got a random Battery warning light on the dash on Sunday and decided to pull and test my alternator. Before I did that I added a voltage gauge to Torque Pro and see voltage in the 12.0v-13.3v range while driving. Battery voltage while idling is 13.8v (14.4v at a cold start)

Pulled a junkyard alternator on Monday from a truck that had 268K on the clock. I had it tested at O'Reillys and it passed all their tests, high voltage of 14.78v recorded with a lamp off reading of 14.42v

Put that alt in my truck and Torque Pro still only reads 13.3v (per ECU requirements) maximum.

Took my alternator to O'Reillys and had it tested and it came up exactly the same as the junkyard alternator. So now I have 2 Toyota alternators

Bought a scangauge for the truck. I think I need it like a hole in the head, I already have a trans temp gauge and a voltmeter, plus my torque pro app can do everything a scangauge can do more easily... But I have the FMU console in need of company, and I couldn't pass up Amazon's $99 price. So here I am.

Goodyear Ultra Terrains

Newbie here on the forums been lurking for years.
Finally decided to register, so hello everyone.

Added 265x75xR16s to my 2000 4Runner today.
113,000 miles (second owner - 2001 19,000 miles when bought)

2.5 lift is next. Hope the 75's are not too small. Just now after all these years doing some mods.

Thanks and I agree on the length. According to RSG, they are the designed length for a 3rd gen.

I sent them an email tonight with pix and feedback and asked them to review my pix and suggested adding a couple inches to each end might be just what the doctor ordered.

Reupholstered my driver’s seat today, with kit from Hotrodupholstery.com.
Followed his Youtube, it was pretty easy, the sun is your friend (letting the new upholstery warm in the sun an hour).

Ordered the passenger seatkit when I was done. Used the Lisle offset hog crimper tool from Amazon.

New bottom cushion from eBay, the other seat’s foam is reusable.

Ordered the passenger seatkit when I was done. Used the Lisle offset hog crimper tool from Amazon.

New bottom cushion from eBay, the other seat’s foam is reusable.

I used his seat covers and had them professionally installed because I needed foam repairs. The results looks great.
He had the Make an Offer feature on eBay and accepted both of my modest offers.

2 1/2 hrs cuz I was watching the video several times as I went, was careful etc etc. Ordered the passenger kit, will take half as long. Oh and he threw in a cnew cover for console top, have not looked at that, it was a surprise.
