Quick trip to junk yard, $10.00 later I swapped out the broke lock mechanism the 4runner. Worked like a charm, figured I to program the keyfobs again, that's the reason I swapped all the actuator motors out to begin with. Still couldn't get the locks to cycle like they say they should. Used the self diagnostic steps that [MENTION=10169]TheDurk[/MENTION] sent me, got the chirper to make noise, not really sure where to go from there. The flow chart says faulty transmitter. Is that the keyfobs, or the box on the rear hatch?

That's the fob. Receiver is in the liftgate.

Did you see me PM? I'm about to lose my mind. I'm at the point to where I am going to driver 45 minutes and pay a dealership to program the freaking things. I can't get the locks to cycle EVER.

Yes. It was the same question, so I just answered it here. I really don't know what else to tell you--I've never programmed one myself. I'm still on two factory fobs and original programming.

I actually got the lock to cycle, then I froze up cause they had never done it before. So it works, just have to do it right. I'm just glad to know that the process works, I'll get one of these days. Thanks again.

Also a semi complete project, but tubed the fire wall to clear the 35s. Still have to finalize new mounting for the flares. (Snorkel was added because it was easier than making a new inner fender liner) I tried 16 gauge on the passenger side side and it was harder to form. Had to do relief cuts. Driver side I used 20 gauge and it formed easier, but still a work in progress and not complete. (Method 105 bead lock wheels 17x9)

Detailed the 4Runner and checked/topped off fluids. My wife is leaving tomorrow on a trip for the week and taking my 4Runner. Her Expedition that is 11 years newer and 80,000 less miles is nowhere near is reliable as the 4Runner. Kinda sad. I have had the 4Runner out of state 3 times since Easter with zero problems fuel mileage just sucks lol.
Hopefully the Expedition will be gone soon maybe even this week and a Sequoia replacing it.

Wrapped up an overhaul on the 2000. Interior was completely redone top to bottom including sound deadening, painting the interior black, new reupholstery, etc. Filmed a 4K walk around for anyone interested.

I just did an oil change, engine compartment detail, scraped 21 years of
greasy gunk off the skid plates and replaced a bad antenna with the
Tacoma antenna. Planning on doing Lower Ball Joints this week.

T-case skid plate
Finally going to take this 4runner we bought back in Feb out to play in the dirt and rocks this weekend. Didn't like how exposed the t-case was, so my son and I fabbed up this skid plate.

Installed my new moog tall front springs with monomax struts and daystar spacers. Shortly after, I uninstalled the assemblies and removed the spacers. The lift was too much. I'm guessing around 4 inches, my cv shafts were crying and the handling was horrible. Looks about even now with the moog tall springs and daystar spacers in the rear. I'm a bit surprised the moog tall springs and monomax struts lifted the front as much as they did. I was really disappointed with the rear springs needing spacers to gain about 2 inches.

I replaced the leather on my front seats
in the year 1997 I purchased a new '98 4Runner.
in the year 2019, I finally replaced the shitty, torn and cracked leather on my 2 front seats.
They now look amazing.
I used these guys I found on ebay to purchase pre-sewn leather covers and new seat bottom foam. While I was at it, I added seat heaters since, well, I had the seats torn apart.

I would say these fit 98% and the construction is very good. The stitching seams don't precisely align from the seat back to the seat cushion but I doubt anyone else will notice. The new seat foams are a world of difference in comfort. I can't wait to go on a road trip!
I'm considering adding some acoustic sound deadening next and definitely need an upgrade to my suspension, wheels and tires.
