Well, crap. Sorry for the blur on the 2nd photo, looked ok on the phone at the time...
Looks like I missed this earlier, or it happened in the last ~1000 miles. I'm thinking missed since they're both kind of the bottom side. Guess I'm buying brake lines before driving it any further (well, I risked the 200' drive up the driveway and will risk it again when the lines show up).
And as a side note, why I never trust other people to work on my stuff. Took the truck for an alignment yesterday with full intention of putting it on the lift and checking torque on the cam adjuster bolts today. Only 1 of the 4 were to torque, and it was over (didn't bother to check how far). The rest were way, WAY under. At least it was the reason for putting the truck on the lift.... and while I was there, I did another round of degreasing as I get ready to do the belts, water pump, VC gaskets, plugs and wires, injectors, etc... basically the most through "while you're in there" service I can think of.

Today I finally figured out why all but my driver’s door window wouldn’t work. The window lock was on.

we got 1st one for our oldest boy in 2011 - 99 SR5 5spd
2013 - next boy we got a 00 5 spd SR5
2017 - next boy at 00 limited 5spd
2018 - girl a 98 SR5 5spd
we get them, they pay insurance, gas maintenance, etc - i have loved every moment mucking around on these things with the kids teaching them the value of caring for an old vehicle and how it can be made to last if you just try and use the infinite resources on this forum

Got my spiker engineering gauge mount on Monday and immediately installed it but haven’t gotten around to posting until today. Love it! Quality was even better than expected.

You copied the "link location" (full web page), you should have copied "image location" ~ just make sure the link ends with a .jpg (or png, or gif, whatever the format). Imgur makes it easy, if you click on the image in your "images" tab, the 2nd one down on the right is "direct link" and then use the image button in the forum, or here you can simply use the BBCode option that puts the right tags in place for you.

awesome thanks I fixed it. Mobile imgur made it difficult to find the right url and imgur is blocked at work so I couldn't check there.
Here's my tundra brake upgrade pic from a few weeks ago that I made the same mistake with.

That's great that you are teaching your kids how to take care of older vehicles and drive 5 speeds. You picked one of the best vehicles ever for longevity.
I'm trying not to envy as I have a 98 SR5 5speed. YOU just pegged the COOL METER!
My Sons are learning to drive mine too. Older one passed his driver test the first time with the manual.
Everyone likes my old 4Runner, esp when they find out it's a stick.....

rear brake maintenance parts arrived from rock auto just in time for work this weekend to keep inspection current - its a shame I can buy a drum cheaper than I can get a few .0001 turned -

you never forget how to drive a manual - good dad teaching that Dave.
its weird - just got back from Germany and they love their manuals over there - an automatic seems to be an exception vs the norm. in Japan a few year ago and observed the same.
I accept that is the way everything is going here in the US though and respect the choice that is made (not hating) - more so when I am stuck in stop and go traffic.:-(
my rationale with kids and the endless search of the elusive 5spd - manual makes you a better driver, puts you in tune with the car and what she is telling you, keeps your fingers off the stupid phone, if the the zombie apocalypse or EMP comes and disables everything but the one old manual sitting in the field - my kids can get out of there with their buddies.
plus didn't we all as little kids pantomime the sound of a car with a manual? Don't all little kids still do it today? that has to mean something....right?
i hope the Yota leadership will one day bring it back. They'd sell IMHO - I'd love to get the wife in a newer gen runner - but she won't have it unless its a manual.

My OEM original was actually pretty structurally solid, pipes rusty but strong. Dang muffler started leaking at the seam.
After agonizing debate, I went with the Walker quietflow SS. I know it's cheap SS but what are you gonna do? Also the walker tail pipe. Construction is kind of cheap looking but fit was OK. You think walker could invest in a decent pipe bender....
Sounds just a hair louder than stock at startup. A little more rumble under 2000rpm, especially engine braking. Not noticeably louder when honking on it. Considerably lighter than the OEM.
I don't drive the 4runner much in the winter if I can help it so hopefully the exhaust will last a good few years. Wish I could have treated her to a nice SS system but availability sucks here in Canada and shipping's a killer.
I saved the stock Cat to muffler pipe which is in decent shape. If this one doesn't hold up, I'll weld on a borla next time.

Did the same thing but I had to drill out one of the dang screws so it took longer than I expected. Looks good and solid in a good location. Also pulled the side boards on the 01. Going to change a noisy front wheel bearing soon. Still waiting on some press accessories.

Another long busy day.
Started with ECGS bushing and new Toyota diff seal. Holy, what a difference. Quite sloppy to snug and firm. Needle bearings looked OK though. Rebooted Upper Ball Joint on this side with a toyota boot kit while I was in there. Comes with a new nut and 2 little grease packets. 4 new bolts in the lower ball joint, I seperated it here rather than the castle nut below.
This led to new moog swaybar links but kept my energy suspension rubbers. Then new Toyota outer tie rod ends (and locknuts) and a mevotech rack bellow boot to replace the one a dealership burnt a hole in last year doing an allignment. Reused the factory clamps.
Since I had to drain and fill the front diff after the ECGS bushing install I also did a drain and fill on the rear diff.
Now to get a good allignment next week.
Also ordered a Toyota factory steel rim to match by base model steelies. I am going to set up a 5th rim and tire as a spare and start doing 5 tire rotations. Could not for the life of me find a used one.
With my new and slightly louder exhaust it is beginning to feel and sound like a different truck.

Haven’t even had it a week
No complaining, just getting some stuff I knew about when I bought it taken care of.
New KYB monomax shocks and struts. Had to cut or break every top nut on the old ones. The ones on the front were very worn.
New front sway bar bushings. The old ones came out in pieces.
New clamps on the battery terminals.
Added in trailer wiring. Hitch gets here Tuesday but I got a head start. For what it's worth, the Curt direct plug in kit should be reversed so the box goes on the drivers side. I had to cut and solder a couple wires to reverse it, but I was able to run it out the vent in the corner instead of cutting a hole or sending it out the back door when I’m using it like the manufacturer suggested.
I guess next weekend I’ll get on to the rest of it. (Cooler, brake controller, 7 pin plug)

There wasn’t any oil on the inside of the tire but there was a thin but not exceptionally wet coat on everything inside the drum.
