Finally got around to checking why my brakes squeaked every time I backed up - sure would be nice if everything was this easy:
Being a packrat, I kept the old clips I replaced at the last brake job, so I'm back in business:
While under there, I replaced the LBJ bolts with new ones, and torqued to 59 ft-lbs:

Last night installed Cvj axles at 349,406...The hardest and longest part was finding the right size socket
It is Outbound Nevada, I think you can only find them on IG outbound_nevada I just DMed Brian there!

I don't really think I'll need mine, but I do these things anyway. Flooding is real even if you don't seek out water-crossings.

I mean it's absolutely a good idea, there's no doubt about that. I was just taking the easy route. I may do the extended breather mod in the future, who knows. How is yours holding up at the moment?

It's not even Really a flooding thing for me, it's the simple road-grime issue that freezes them up too. Get it up and out of the weather and that's one last thing to fail. Yup, then you have the hose, that's a whole lot easier to inspect and replace and can be done anytime, anywhere... heck, even without a replacement hose I can just unscrew the adapter and screw in the breather till I find a hose.
Mine looks the same 2 years in as the day I installed it, minus a little surface grime on the hose.

Well, hopefully it's good. It's out of site behind a plastic cover where the gas filler tube goes up to the cap. Haven't given it a second look. Since I was doing my rear diff oil anyway, I just bought the toyota union fitting when I ordered the new breather, a couple of hose clamps and some fuel hose and ran it up there. Didn't feel like going the whole 9 yards and cutting a hole in the gas filler surround. I threw some Teflon tape on the union so it's nice and secure.
I guess my reasoning was that i want to be able to cross a flooded road/stream in an emergency or if it came up on a trail unexpectedly. Not looking for water, however - I'm avoiding it for the most part!

Last weekend - Roscoe got a bunch of new Toyota parts - water pump & thermostat, Timing belt & idlers, accessory drive belts and new idler pulley for A/C (it was chirping with RPM), radiator, cap & hoses. New Toyota Red long life coolant. I get a nice parts discount from Green's Toyota in Lexington KY. This week we will be joining the 300,000 mile club.
congrats on that milestone. i'm nearing 200,000.
today's festivities included breaking a rusted-out O2 sensor stud. oh wait, that was the truck.
the 4R finally got an alignment after all the new bushings, and i lubricated the door hinges and latches.

Started maintenance on my 99 by replacing the rear diff fluid along with new drain plug, fill plug and crush washers.
There was a pinhole leak in the rear diff, so we cleaned it and filled/covered it with WaterWeld.
There was about 1.5 quarts remaining and it was pure black. Given the dark color and rust from the plugs it may have never been changed, who knows?
Up next is the fluids in the transfer case and the front diff along with new plugs and crush washers.

i had about five broken in that same position. good you only had one.
Yeah I was honestly expecting more broken wires. It took me a little while to find the bad spot in the window switch board but it was an easy fix after finding it.

Mission AT replacement
Stuffed my second T-case I got from jawas in my 00 limited this morning before work. It's a straight shift instead of the standard "j" shift.. fixed my issue of being stuck in 4x4 after replacing transmission that had a massive failure (bell housing cracked like an egg on highway).
Now it drives like the brakes are stuck/ engine braking?
Heavy resistance while in drive 1st gear.. gets into 3rd gear but just high af rpms and seems to be no gear shift after 3rd?
Could use y'all's help!

Cam delete kit and set the 6112 struts to the 9th notch. Had it on 8th notch since install, doesnt look like it upped it much, seems a lot stiffer now too. Also installed my propane tank on the rear jerry can holder.
