What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

@ZJiggy I hate when I'm out camping and people fly their Drones but the pics and video one can get with said r incredible.

That's me assuming ur pic was taken with one.

Wasn't today but I got a 98 5 speed (270k with a 2" spacer lift 31.5" tires and a good maintenance history for only 7k) 2 weeks ago. Day 3 I went to start it up and it wouldn't go into 1st or 2nd. Once it warmed up it worked fine but after some of my own research and talking with a buddy of a buddy who is big on 3rd gens and helped me in finding the right one I took a look at the clutch master cylinder to find that the dot3 was not that nice clear amber color so I did 2 cycles of flushing with a turkey baster. No more issues getting into gear although my clutch pedal is a bit sticky and doesn't always go up the last 1/2" or so which if I don't manually bring it up with my foot doesn't allow me to use cruise control. Thinking it's either that I need to bleed the system now or replace the clutch pedal bushings (it's a pretty squeaky pedal atm). Also a week ago I tried to put the stock skid back on that the previous owner had taken off only to find that the diff drop blocks that from going back on (no clue if the kit the previous owner used had the skid spacers or not). So far that's all I've done to this girl besides mounting a phone holder with screws (my plan is to be the last owner so I figured it was worth it to have a bombproof phone mount).

I don’t have a drone. I just walked up the hill. :)

And got a very nice pic for it.

Agree with Clearock- really dislike drones over my campsite too, between the whine and invasion of privacy. We got treated to one of those at camp outside Moab. Right over our heads for way too long, they were camped up the hill and behind some rocks, had no reason to be close over us. There's a reason we seek campsites well away from others.

And see here I am thinking that is one sweet RC 3rd gen. Good picture all the same.

Habanero - FWIW I've got a full aluminum radiator in my 2005 sequoia that I'm reasonably happy with. Towing a trailer in 100+ weather and it keeps the temps down. It's been on for about 25k miles. The tabs used to hang it didn't line up, and the shroud needed to be trimmed for the upper hose, but other than that it was a direct fit.

What did you get??? So far Koyo seems to have what I'm looking for, but am certainly open to suggestions.

Well that was a dumb omission. I got a champion aluminum radiator for a tundra, but it worked okay for the Sequoia. I know for a while they had a hit and miss reputation, so I thought I'd give you a data point.

Mine is model CC2321 for whatever that's worth

This past weekend I pulled the blown engine from the “new” 4Runner. Exhaust bolts were a pain. I ended up taking them off at the manifolds since the wrecked one is an 02 and can’t swap it with the y pipe on. Next I have to pull the good engine from the wrecked 4Runner which is going to be a pain since the front is smashed in. Gotta figure out and decide how I want to go about it.

Got the lifetime alignment at Firestone about two weekends ago and replaced my fuel tank pressure sensor (89461-35010) last week to fix the P0451 code and the CEL has stayed off.
About to show the interior some much needed love - bought some WeatherTech mats and a new center console lid (58905-35040-B1) because mine is all cracked and blistered. Going to deep clean the whole interior.

I looked for that console for my 99 in Oak
The PN I found was 58905-35070-E0

Took the truck out for a light trail run shakedown with over 100 miles on new gears after proper break-in.

Rowher 4x4 trail, rated most difficult, was a breeze

Checked the condition of my consoles cover and I ordered a new cover, key fob case, patch and a couple stickers! Tried cleaning the 23 year old dead skin and grim off some of the surfaces inside. The shifter will be good I think. The steering wheel is a maybe the console cover was a bit to far gone.

Tried to install the spindles I spent forever rebuilding and welding gussets onto... would've been nice to know the gussets won't work with JBA's ball joint :frusty:
To anybody reading in the future, you'll have to grind a flat spot on their adapter piece and get creative with how you press it in. What I did was use two super thick washers, a nut and bolt, and a sleeve to basically create a mini ball joint press and cinch everything together - it works and is VERY slow going, but I doubt you'd be able to press it in any other way. Was a nice, unexpected 2 hour hiccup on one side. Then after I mounted the spindle I realized I forgot to swing the caliper back over and there's not enough room now to snake it between the spindle and shock tower, so it all had to come off again. The cherry on top was at some point my CV boot ripped too... :frusty:
These gussets better prove their worth for how much headache they've caused!

Yesterday I by happenstance decided to do the full clutch spring delete. Started by me trying to change the stock bushings on the spring without removing the clutch pedal assembly. Spent a while trying to wrestle the spring back in laying in the foot well only to realize that I had broken one of my new bushings in the process. Rolled down to harbor freight for some some Velcro ties for my diy 4 way air up/down setup with no spring only to realize I absolute love the clutch feel with no spring so I'm just leaving it this way.
