vinyl tint from ebay lol ($10). Old credit card, hair dryer, and soapy water...a 30 min. affair both sides. I didn't do spray because it's irreversible and I've already put my headlights in the oven...didn't want to deal with that mess again ..lol

Well not to brag..but I just bought my 4Runner a month or so ago and I'm headed down to Texas for the next 2 years so my dad and I put a lot of work into the 4Runner at his shop this week so a lot of the major preventative maintenance is taken care of.

-new waterpump
-new timing belt
-new belts and rad hoses
-new radiator
-new oil filter and oil
-new fuel filter
-new valve cover gaskets
-new cam shaft seals
-checked valves
-new crank sensor
-new timing belt tensioner
-inner and outer seals on RR axle[LR already done previous to my purchase]
-new pedal pads

Oh and I just installed Weathertech digital fit mats in the front, the rear ones shouls be arriving later today.

Things I did today...

I did the deckplate mod (minus the deckplate cuz I live in SoCal). I also did the ISR mod. Everything sounds great. It feels more responsive. Cheap, quick and easy!

Put it on the scan tool and found out that my CEL is on because of the Cylinder 1 misfire ....AGAIN! Looks like my coil pack is gonna need changing! I swapped the coil pack so I can see if the code follows to another cylinder.......Might fix it on Wednesday.

I changed my battery today. It was an Everstart from Walmart and it was almost 5 years old. I had already killed it once by leaving the key in the ON position all night so I figured it was time. I bought an Autozone Duralast Platinum AGM. I haven't read to much about them online or on this site at all.

They started selling them at the beginning of 2011. It's a 34R and $138. Since Optima has been getting bad reviews lately and I'm not a fan of Sears so I didn't want to hand them $220, thought I'd give the Duralast a try. Unlike the Optima the Duralast says "Made in the USA" so that sold it for me.

I bought two of them, one for the runner and one for my Tacoma. So I guess if they turn out to be crap I'll find out soon...

well it wasnt all done today but it was recent within the past 2 weeks...
ISR mod, removed sidesteps, installed suspension lift ranchos rs9000xl, midland cb radio with 5ft antenna. made the hood scoop functional... tundra brake mod 231mm kind. also replaced the valve cover gaskets and painted the valve covers white lol it was the only paint i had left in the shop lol they are glossy and shiny with the clear coat. lol

future mods coming are the fj80 and trd tundra coils and making the pan hard trac bar adjustable.

We painted our s/c through our shop, not for everyone but we like it . Kinda interested in seeing the valve covers painted, do you have any photos?

Let us know if it fails on ya. I have the Duralast Gold in all three of my autos now and really have nothing but high praise for Duralast batteries for the last decade.

I just changed the spark plugs and wires for the first time in my life. I mixed up the wires and had to rewire them though. Very straight forward and a great learning experience. I also picked up 6 quarts of Valvoline Synthetic motor oil and will be replacing that tonight.
