What did you do with your 4runner today?

Continued with yesterday's theme and cut this big honkin muffler off. Welded in a Flowmaster Super 50 for a quiet but subtle sound. I like it so far.

I picked up my new PelfreyBilt aluminum bumper yesterday, and I installed it today!

Looks good!:thumb3: That's an interesting cant you set there though. Is that fixed, or on a swivel? I was tossing around the same idea but my G43 with the Incog Eclipse holster fits so perfectly in the "secret compartment" in the glovebox so I bagged the idea.

Thanks. I think the cant looks exaggerated because I took that picture while the inner bin was out. The holster is a G19 Blackhawk paddle holster and I used the bolts that attach it to the paddle to attach it to the inner bin. The grip is actually level with the top of the console and the top of the holster is open so once you grab it start to bring it up, you can bring it straight up and out. By the way, my 43 also fits in it but won't stay locked in if that makes sense. It will sit in it if you get tired of it being on your hip.

I bought a couple things for the 4Runner today...

I would have loved to have aired down this last weekend, but I don't have a reliable compressor, so I bought one


Last time I set up camp in the dark, it sucked, so I bought 4 of these to mount on the Prinsu rack


I'm also working on some hatch lighting to light things up when I'm getting something out of the drawers or cooking/working on the drawerbox top.

I finished installing my Icon stage 2 kit. It rides great on the street and I can't wait to get it in the dirt?

After catching the dog attempting to drive off with the 4Runner I decided to make a dog barrier. We bought one from Amazon but I wanted one that would allow for full use of the floor space as well as one in each Runner. I used head rest backpack hangers meant for the FJ Cruiser as the lower mounting spot and the coat hanger for the top mounting spot. I apologize I didn't take any pictures of the build process. When it warms up I'll end up painting it. I also want to get some knob bolts for easy release but haven't found where to buy them.

Not today but recently...I was tired of hitting my exhaust and ripping it off twice so I decided to scrap the entire stock system and go for a custom high clearance +better flowing build. The V6 cossover pipe runs lower than the transmission crossmember which is a huge issue for me.The muffler also hangs too low and my resonator in the rear has been crushed shut multiple times.

Some of the parts used


Crossover pipe...double walled. Inner pipe is equivalent to about 1" pipe so the new exhaust should flow much better. Also the y pipe merge collector is a horrible restrictive design.


Yes I know its messy...this is the shape of the new y pipe.Huge piece! The whole system uses easy to release V-band flanges.


Installed . Tucks nice around the transfer case and gas tank .The tailpipe goes over the frame and dumps down. There is no way I can crush the tailpipe now!

Took the 4Runner out to Big Bend National Park this weekend. Great place if you want to do some light offroading and get off the grid for a while!

Also, hit a critical milestone during the trip.

Got BF Goodrich KO2 installed today.

the white letterings have blue tint on all the tires and does not look as nice as some the KO2's I've seen on this forum. Also are these patches on side wall normal? It's on all the tires.

Getting ready for bigger tires, cut the pinch welds off the front and welded. Primer and coated with rubber under armour.
