Just threw these on after picking them up from an FJ owner. All ready for some snow!!!. Gotta go grab the right length bolts and spacers then I should be sitting pretty!

I was lucky enough to drive over a razorblade (literally) at 70mph, over mountain pass with no shoulder to pull off on. So that's neat.

On the plus side, might as well replace all the tires!

Yesterday: Installed 5k HIDs in lows, 3k in fogs. Ordered new seal for rear window
Went swimming

Today: Picked up a nail in a tire, was disappointed when I was told the tire could be saved.

Went for a short-ish drive in the blizzard today, and was amazed by what I didn't see. Mainly what I didn't see was (a) people and (b) traffic! The media has been screaming about this "snow event" for a week or so, and I guess they finally got their msg across, because for two miles in every direction this neck of the woods looked like the aftermath of a post-apocalyptic nuclear winter. Literally nothing was open! Not a store, not a supermarket, not a deli - nuthin' !! Saw one 7-11 and one all-night pharmacy, and that was it! Couldn't help noting that mine were the only tracks into or out of my "retirement" community, since I have the only 4X4 except for one Subaru that was still buried in snow. 4Runners rule! I liked the experience. Must confess it made me feel more than a little -- dare I say it? -- SMUG! Kind of like, here's mine, where's yours? I know, I know, shame on me, etc. Couldn't help it.....

Fwiw, if this happens with fairly new tires you can buy one tire that has been shaved down. Tirerack offers this as I am sure others do too.

That is why I mentioned doing so if the other tires were fairly new. Otherwise not worth it.

Have a 2003, but found what i consider to be a good deal on a 08. overall in great shape with 130,000 miles, 4x4, $9500. did i do good? i live on maui so they are somewhat hard to come by.

Um i cant get a 2006 under 95 so yes you did amazing. Take it to a trusted mechanic and check it all out.

But I'm too old to figure out how to use the site efficiently and I can't post it for sale yet due to various rules.

Got all the snow cleared off and ready to roll if our baby(wife's due date is today) decides she wants to come out this weekend... also realized how bad the bridgestone duelers are in the snow.

Removed the throttle body and cleaned it. It wasn't as dirty as I thought it might be. The bottom coolant hose was a SOB to remove and I accidentally lost about 1/2 of the overflow reservoir while the TB was disconnected - oh well.

I also installed [MENTION=12905]XenonDepot[/MENTION] 5000k HIDs. Simply astounding light output. By far one of my favorite mods. The stock projectors do a fantastic distributing the light. inb4 the haters.

Hahah, dat dad joke. (I'm sad I didn't think of that joke on my own...)

Ideally I would've liked to just replace the one, but my TG's had about 40 months of driving on them - maybe 30-35k miles - and while they're wearing really well, I felt like the safest bet was replacing all of them. Sucks to spend the money when I wasn't anticipating it, but when I drive the 4Runner, it's typically somewhere I need to count on the tires and on 4WD, otherwise I just take the Prenis (aka Prius.)
