What did you do with your 4runner today?

something still isnt right. I've jumped mine off a dune at 50mph and my shocks didnt puncture.

Yeah well when the bushing that holds it in places busts in half I'm not surprised that a hole in the body is what happened. It only poked through, not like 6 inches deep

Not saying that it isn't. My problem is fixed with the new shocks. Not having any problems anymore. Just boggles my mind that it happened with the Bilstien shocks, the first issue I've ever had with them, I have their shocks on my Tacoma and have beat on them way more and have held up great.

Also, what does everyone think of this? The uniball hardware came with a washer that is supposed to go on top. I noticed at full droop it makes contact with the snap ring. Wonder if this could cause any issues...

That washer should be on top the Allen bolt fits flush into the ball joint adapter. It looks like you caved in that washer

Mine's in the shop. A bunch of warning lights came on (2005 Ltd V8). I took it in and they said something about right rear speed sensor and bearings and it wasn't safe to drive. Est. repairs $1k

I don't see how if properly mounted and secured the shock shaft moved and punctured the wheel well. Somethings not tight or you maxed your shock out and it had to move or explode.

did you use the JL bass knob? I've been wanting to do this, but when I take the JL knob apart I just don't mess with it.

Think I ran over glass or something. These tire walls are pitiful! A paper cut in the sidewall and the whole thing needs to be replaced now [emoji36] will definitely be upgrading to something more 'meatier' once these have their run

I procrastinated the start of my work day to begin the process of trouble shooting a "clunk" in my T4r front end that It showed up after I upgraded suspension. It only seemed to happen going over speed bumps or curbs around 15-20 mph. Sounded like R front, but could have been anywhere in the front. I was thinking sway bar bushings, new UCA's, or WTF???

I had previously checked all suspension bolts, but did not check sway bar bolts.

Step 1) Check all sway bar and and sway bar link bolts
Step 2) Replace Sway bar bushings
Step 3) Replace Sway bar links????
Step 4) Replace UCA's
Step 5) Come back to T4r and ask for help!

I never got to step 2!!! After pulling off the skid plate I began checking sway bar frame bolts and voila, the L front were both loose!!!! I finished checking all other sway bar bolts, installed skid plate, and took her for a drive over the problematic speed bump! The clunk was gone!!!!

2 morals to my story.
1) Triple check all bolts are torqued!
2) When diagnosing a "clunk" start simple and double check all bolts are tight!

That's very clean. Damn I wish I had a traction control button like that! All I have is a center diff lock. Any reason why yours has all three of those ?
Mine is 05 Sport edition 4wd v8.

Yea, JL bass knob, RBC-1, for my 500/1 (version 1), came out pretty clean. I just drilled a button blank and used needle nose pillars to clean up the plastic pieces on the back of the false button.

Hmm interesting. My vsc turns off when I lock the diff but not traction control. Makes no sense so going through mud the wheels stop spinning once the computer notices. I got stuck because of this. I found a way to turn everything off by unplugging a connection near the brake fluid reservoir.
