Changed out the stock JBL Hu for the Scion T10015!!!
Still working on the bezel.
Steering wheel controls work perfectly and OMG I can't believe how much the sound quality improved.

did you need any adapters to install this? or is that plug and play with the JBL system.
Dayyyummmm!Got rear-ended while parked at a grocery store...damn old people and skinny pedals...actually pushed the 4runner into the driving lane by 6 feet!
Destroyed his car and just made me angered...and the man doesn't have insurance...time to shop for rear bumpers and hatches!

Yes you do need adapters, especially for the JBL system:
--PT546-00120-CH 28 pin harness-Accessory Harness Adapter- Steering wheel controls, etc.
--PT546-00120-AD (You'll only need the part that plugs into the antenna)
--if you want bluetooth PT546-74120-MC
--USB- PT546-00120-US (USB connection if you want that option)
Then if you have a JBL system, you also need:
Metra TYTO-01- Converts the analog output of the head unit to the digital signals the Synthesis amp is looking for.
71-1761- Reverse Wiring Harness- Allows you to plug the converter into the Scion head unit without hacking up any vehicle wiring.

They are not at all. 136 mph if I remember correctly. I've had mine to 132 before I lifted and shoved 35's under her.

Agreed! So this is my new dilemma...my wife used to have an old school Bronco with the tire-swing gate...she hated it and we're expecting one in a few months...she would prefer to NOT have a swing-gate as it's annoying to her to access the rear often and have to unlatch and swing over the swing-gate each time (she uses the rear hatch area often)...is it worth upgrading to a CBI rear bumper withOUT the swing gate or should we just pursue a replacement OEM option?
What would T4R members do?
I personally think all the aftermarket rear bumpers look retarded due to the high sides of the stock one. They do offer great protection though so I'd say it depends on if you need that protection. If not then I'd definitely say stock.

Both are true statements...however, I used to always look at fender-benders as opportunities to get armor where it's needed...this time I suppose that since the 4runner is hers to rock, she should get what she wants...luckily she loved the rest of what's been done to it so that's good...

I keep hoping someone will hit me or I can take out a deer! No luck, although I'm not sure what would happen to my insurance rates....? I have geico and I've heard they are good in those situations but I've never been in an accident in the 20 years I've been driving. They are definitely great with roadside assistance!

After an 8 month wait I finally got a new dash :hail: However when I picked my runner up after the install the check engine light is now on.... wasn't on when I dropped it off. I'm hoping its the gas cap, doesn't feel like its getting tight enough. Pretty crazy though, the first time in it's life I take it to the dealer a light comes on. :crazy:

forgive my ignorance, but did you retain the JBL amp? i thought you had to use that TATO converter or whatever if you were going to retain the JBL amp? this is what was holding me back before.
if i can get this to work...anyone be interested in an e7009 w/ red backlighting?!!

Shocks & suspension swap
Courtesy of my SoCal FJC colleagues, got a set of 2013 FJC front & rear shocks/suspension for my 2004 4Runner. The first suspension upgrade from stock after 12 years @ 120k+ miles. Pending installation is the rear coil spring.
They say, if it's broken - upgrade. But if it's free, swap it. Thanks to my generous colleagues.
