Which light bar did you end up going with?

I was gifted a 20" light bar off amazon. Came with all the hardware and wiring, only thing I had to do was make a small mount to connect to the bumper. Ran the wires through the firewall and has a switch to the left of my steering wheel. Pretty dang bright I must say, but that is the point lol :naughty:

The forum software is doing the resize. Don't know of a way to prevent that as I think it's a forum setting the admins control.

Finished up the suspension work today, used some cheap Gabriel shocks on the rear to hold me over until I get the FJ springs and the proper bushings for the Bilstein shocks. XREAS is completely removed now. Gained about 3" of lift from where the collapsed suspension was sitting when I got the truck.

All this is going to the recycler at some point.

Here is the before with the XREAS still on. Notice how low the front was riding.

Here is after with just about 3" of lift on the front from where it was sitting.

Very nice set up but I notice the green box in the corner, is that a Pelican case? Just curious.

Military surplus Hardigg case. Like the Pelican but better. I have a couple of them that I got for camping and wheeling trips in my 99 Tacoma.

Picked up a set of 285/70R17 KM2s with >50% tread (but that've been used hard offroad) for $300 They were on some Ford 8-lug wheels, so should be able to sell those to recoup a bit of the cost.

Probably gonna keep the Grabbers/stock wheels on it daily, and put the KM2s on for winter/trails. They're getting mounted whenever my buddy gets around to it this week. Can't wait

I have a few things to add to my build thread but here is the current state of the 4Runner:

Safari Snorkel Installed:
I am so glad I waited for the vehicle specific snorkel to be released. The fit is perfect and install was very easy. Just over 3 hours installed with some help from a buddy. We then proceeded to retrofit one to his Nissan and it took about 10+ hours.

295/70R17 Yokohama G003 M/T:
These tires were an impromptu purchase prior to a winter wheeling trip and I am so glad I did. These performed flawlessly on the highway and the trail down to -8 degrees Celsius. Temperature is dropping this week to -33 degrees Celsius so the Nokians are going back on. Excited to see how these perform this coming summer as well.

Had a TPMS sensor installed on my new spare since I sold the original wheels & spare weeks ago. Come to find out 2 out of the 4 sensors on my current wheels are bad and one other has a low battery.
Also changed the oil for the first time on this 4runner, bought it at a local Honda dealership and wanted to put in a YZZD3 filter.

Bought my 2003 4R Limited 4wd V8 on Wednesday.

Stripped off the bug deflector, removed the hood insulation, removed the running boards and cleaned the headlights and fog light lenses.

Sourced 2017 rear Tacoma shocks and 2019 front Tacoma shocks with springs locally yesterday to replace the crapped out XREAS suspension.

Started replacing it all today. Completed the front, along with removing the front swaybar and then hit a snag on the rear when I discovered I had the wrong Energy Suspension bushings for the shocks. Couldn't find anything local for those so ordered up a set, along with new FJ rear springs from Rock Auto. Those will be here Tuesday and Wednesday. In the meantime, I'm going to get a set of cheap rear 4R shocks from Autozone so I can drive the truck.

Here's all that I have removed from the XREAS so far, minus the rear Billie shock.

Spray the stock bushings with PBBlaster or something similar the night before. Use a large socket on one side that the bushing can slide into and a small socket on the other side to push it out using a vice. I found an 11mm socket worked great.

The new bushings are trickey to install but will go in. And then they are a ***** to get installed on the lower shock mount but they will go. I used a little grease and a deadblow hammer to get them on far enough to start the shock bolt and used that to press them on the rest of the way. Worked great.
