Picked up my first boat on Sunday! Been fishing from the bank for years now and finally decided it was time to get on the water. The 4Runner looks good hauling

Yes, Bilsteins on all 4 corners plus FJ springs. So far I really like it. I had 150,000 miles on the XREAS so this is a nice upgrade. I didn't take measurements before hand so I can't tell you exactly how much lift I got. The front spring perch is at .85" so looking at what everyone else got from the same set up, its probably somewhere around 2" lift in the front and .5" lift in the back.

I had just over 150,000 miles on the original suspension. So far I like the new setup. It's a little stiffer than what stock shocks and springs would be but not harsh at all. Great upgrade, I would recommend it to anyone on the original suspension

Been considering selling my 2003 V8 4x4 to a buddy for $7k. It's got 205k miles, but I've been maintaining it and it drives like new. I will be sad to see it go, but need to pay down some bills before the Bronco I have reserved shows up. I wish I was better at handling money so I could just keep it. :sobbing:
OK, Thanks. I'm at 158K miles (and 17 years) on the OEM X-REAS. One more thing on the to-do list.

Another vote here for Bilsteins. I swapped in TRD Offroad components from a ‘15 Tacoma, which is a solid choice if you want to try the Bilstein ride before spending a lot of $ (my cost was $200 total). The “X-REAS delete“ thread linked in my sig has more on why I went that route & may also be helpful if you DIY the install.

Just bought my first 4runner!
I've admired 4runners since I was a teenager. This summer I worked, saved up and paid a good prince for my 2007 SR5! Ordered some weather tech floor liners to protect the new carpets. Next step is to add some fender flares to give it a more aggressive look while also protecting the paint job around it
Afterwards I'm gonna save up and get a Sony XAV-AX5000 and install it in the center console so I can sort of modernize this bad boy!
P.S. Researching to see whether or not the sport hood is compatible or fits with the SR5 model. Carparts.com said they are NOT compatible, but multiple people in the forums here have said it is compatible and interchangable. Hopefully anyone has some tips for me on these upcoming projects I wanna do with my new 4runner?? Thanks!

What HAVEN'T I done in the 3 weeks I've had it after buying it at night, in the rain, 2 hours away?
It immediately needed front wheel bearings, axles and brake calipers. Found this out AFTER buying it. It drove fine on the test drive.
Since then, just general maintenance, changing all the fluids etc. I have a timing belt kit, power steering hoses and front brake pads ready to install.
I've also ordered some Dobinsons IMS suspension and Nitto Grappler G2 285/70R17s. Waiting on FN to return my email to order wheels. Will also be having a front hybrid bumper and rock sliders made locally.

I guess it was mod day for me. First I did the map light mod, (see thread I created to discuss it earlier today), and then I installed a new/used auto dim mirror with homelink and compass. Both of these were extremely simple. I just fixed the garage door opener on my shop at home last weekend, (it had been broken for a couple of years). Then I immediately started thinking about getting homelink. I thought there was a way to change the overhead console to one with homelink but when I started researching I remembered about the mirrors. I got one just like what's in my Tundra. By going with the mirror instead of the console I got the bonuses of auto dimming and compass. Picked up a very nice used one on eBay for $39. I did it all while at work today and ironically it's a day when we have to work late so it'll be dark when I get home and I can see how good the map light mod works. :bravo:
Well some was done the other day but I replaced the power steering pump and got rid of that noise.
Then went to do the tensioner and decided to just swap the pulley but ran into a alternator reinstallation issue so got a new one of them...
Today was the other 3 pulleys and new pcv hose since the other was cracking at the ends so figured for $10 why not.
Its so quiet now I can hear myself think when its on. I could barely hear it running!

I gave the windows a much needed cleaning and hit them with rain-x. Also looked at how/where I want to put my front camera.

Just being ridiculous haha. Well I changed it right away when I got it and changed it to synthetic. When I bought it I knew the oil pan was leaking just a tad.
After 1,000 miles are so I noticed the level went down a bit so I decided to change it again and add in a quart of Lucas oil Stabilizer see if that would help a bit.
So its actually a little over 5,000 miles. I ordered Amsoil and was gonna wait a bit to change it but I had some time today and decided before it got dark to do the transmission so I added in the oil. I'm gonna leave that in over winter and just keep it topped up.
I also took a sample and Im gonna have it tested and then do the same with the Amsoil after i change it just out of curiosity.
Well yesterday I had my new General Grabber ATX's installed and after having to take it back for vibration, it now rides great. Today I washed it and then a applied Meguiars Ultimate Black Restorer on my mud flaps, running boards and that piece of gray plastic that goes across the top of the rear bumper. Also put tire shine on the new tires. Then I checked all my fluid levels. Did a little cleanup work around the inside of the jam for the rear hatch and cleaned the rear window inside and out.
