Took my rig to work today so I could have customer service on the phone while we pin point why my FM Modulator (headrest DVDs) isn't working. Couldn't figure it out. Severely pissed. I have a plan though.............
Couldn't get the modulator figured out, so I sat in my seat staring at the lower dash which was apart. Decided I HATED how the buttons were arranged. RSCA OFF button was all the way in the rightmost slot and Diff Lock button was in the 2 slot. Switched them around:

I'm sometimes f**king stupid like that. Anyway, at least I did something to my rig today............

Picked mine up from the dealer. New headgaskets, radiator, amd water pump. 3600 dollars later

Today I changed the front and rear diff oil, transfer case oil, and finished installing new rear wheel bearings. Weather permitting, tomorrow will be a 300 mile day and a new windshield.

I went synthetic Mobil.
Haven't done the front diff yet though.

hello T4R been a while since i posted. did my front brakes over the weekend. took my 4R to get oil change (yes i take it in for oil changes since it is a lot cheaper and cleaner) but with that the shop always trys to up sale me. said my brake pads were 2mm in the "red zone". quoted me $199 to do a pad swap and $40 more to turn the rotors. i declined and did them myself. went w ceramic pads i bought locally for $52 and the shop charged me $30 to turn the rotors.
a few hours work which was easier than i expected. i went the pads below and really like them so far.

ECGS recomends lucas 85 140 non synthetic for the rigs that off-road regularly. It can withstand way more heat than your average gear oil. It has a negative effect on gas mileage though. I run it only for protective purposes when im really giving the axles hell.
75 90 and 80w 90 are just fine for regular use.

Awesome. I'll probably go with M1 synthetic 75w90. :thumb3:
Call me stupid, but I could have sworn ATF or engine oil went in the T case, not gear oil.

some manufacturers use gear oil some use ATF in the transfer case. ECGS will advise against synthetic but i doubt it will make much difference for your regular use.

So, every time I use my heater I have a horrible mold/mildew smell, and I'm super allergic to both. Anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to get rid of it?
