What did you do with your 4runner today?

Drove it downtown today, its a nice day so I opened all the windows and I hear a few loud pops. Looks like sunroof came off track. Had to close it and then use tilt for it to line up so it won't leek. Have only had it for 6 days and already has a problem

I've had mine make some very startling sounds, like popping. But I've never done anything to fix it. It works for the most part (it rattles on the freeway) but has never leaked. Ever.

The popping is probably little chunks of hardened grease in the track. There is a toyota service bullitin that shows you how to fix it. Its not very hard to do. Mine made the same noises and then stuck open . It took 2 hours to fix prob less if you have skills .

Put the T4R in the garage for the weekend since I sent my gauges to Alex. Called up Dad's Rent-a-Car and picked up my ride for the next few days....a 2012 Impreza Sport.

CVT tranny's are weird.

Changed my oil again in preparation for another road course race.

It'll be my 1st time in an advance class. I'm very excited. I am also going to cut off the dust shields and make custom brake ducts.

How does your truck hold up to all the racing? You're close to 100k miles right? Any problems?

Holds up well honestly. It is still a nice daily driver, no squeaks or rattles and the drive train feels solid and on the road it tracks straight and true. Of course the brakes and tires wear much faster but thats a given. My only grip is that the oem radio kicked the bucket and now sounds terrible but idk if that failure is from racing or age or use. Thats the only thing that has failed amazingly. My current millage is 96,6xx.

Where'd your new, custom intake manifold go?

That was a mock up one so we could see if it could clear the hood. The 1st one did not. Plus it is going to be more refined.

2 Tail Light bulb replacements, bought new pads for the rear for tomorrows work. Cleaned the sunroof tracks and re-lubed them. Cleaned the automatic door latch on the tailgate and re-lubed all the pneumatic hood and tailgate struts.
