What did you do with your 4runner today?

With temps hitting 12 degrees F, tire pressure is going to drop. TPMS light has been on for a few days and I finally had enough of looking at it. "Topped" off my 4 tires, light was still on. Spare was low, so I had to lower the f***r in 15 degree weather to top it off.

why not just hook them up to a relay and factory wire to trigger them on instead of running wire for a switch? Unless you plan to use them randomly.

Yeah I thought about that but I'd like to be able to use them randomly if I need to, plus I don't need them all the time just when its really dark or I'm in the middle of the woods or something haha. Im committed now though since I've already bought all the wires and supplies and everything

So that's what the heavy duty boots from CVJ look like, let us know how they sit after install, had to do the boot slide mod on mine(regular boots) after install, because of the lift and the angle of the cv all the fins on the boots were rubbing!

Will do. I plan on taking quite a few pictures during the install. From my first impression I'm very happy with them. It looks like most of the issues they were having for others has been taken care of by now. With the high angle silicone boots it looks like they have already gone ahead and moved it further down the shaft to accommodate the added angle. There is only about 1-2" of the half shaft actually visible. But I'll have to see what it looks like after I get them in.

Shiny! Where'd you get those from? I like the one red boot, offsets all the black underneath.

These are factory rebuilds from CVJ axles in Denver, CO. The red boot is their Heavy Duty Silicone boots to accommodate a higher CV angle for trucks with lifts.

I noticed what you mean about the boots being extended right away, mine had a lot more of the shaft(green by the way) showing. I think those will sit perfect once they're in. Theyre actually really easy to swap out, hardly have to take anything apart!

I'm hoping everything goes smooth. This is also my first time working with CV axles but I've done all the other work to my truck and I've read every thread I can find on the subject so I'm confident I can do it. I picked up the knuckle seals and diff seals so I can get them swapped out as well. I doubt I'll need them but I want to make sure any maintenance that is done is done right the first time.

Ever since I bought my used 2007 sports edition the tire pressure light has been blinking. The dealership I bought it from just told me that its really sensitive and its nothing to worry about. It came with new BFG Mud-Terrain T/A KM2s. I haven't really checked out the tire pressure on the tires or messed with the spare. Is the tire pressure monitor really over sensitive or likely that one of my tires including the spare is off?

I feel your pain! I topped mine off to get the light off and nothing. By the time I got the spare down the compressor turned off and I had to put another dollar in for 10 seconds of air :redbrick:

I didn't replace any of the seals, my truck had about 109k when I did it and they looked perfectly fine, no leaks so far!

Tell the dealership to eat it, they are blinking b/c the sensor "receiver" in the truck is no longer receiving info from the tire sensors. Your sensor batteries are either dead or haven't been installed. If your pressure is low, the TPMS light is at a steady on.

hahahahahaha I don't know why but I was so damn mad! as soon as i figured it was the spare I got the tools out and it turned off. I wanted to get in my car and leave but since I was there I went ahead. Next time I'm dropping the spare and taking all the caps off before I pay them

love it. its nice not having to do the whole "let me try to hold this and the fork and steer with my wrist while trying to not drop any on my lap" thing.

Definitely one of the best features of the truck.

I haven washed my 4R since I got to Portland...3 months ago. After a couple weeks driving through snow it was time. Had to drive to St Johns to find a DIY car wash so I could get the undercarriage. Didnt go too crazy since Im driving it down to CA in a couple of weeks.
