What did you do with your 4runner today?

don't get me wrong, i love getting dirty, but cleaning mud is the absolute worst

no where near worth it.

Been working on my roof rack for a week or two. Not every day obviously, but an hour or so every few days. Im going for the frontrunner style. Here are the terrible photos of the unfinished product





I also greased everything with a zerks, and had the tires balanced. She rides like a dream. How often do you guys change your synthetic oil? Mine is very clean for 3,000

If you change synthetic every 3,000 miles, you're just wasting oil. I change mine every year, which happens to be about 6500 miles. The latest analysis from Blackstone labs said I could go much further between changes. If you're worried about how often you need to change your oil, Blackstone labs is cheap peace of mind.

My dad's huskeys are starting to curl after heavy use

This is what I pictured:

OH how I know. Had so much of that sandy stuff in my brakes, wore my rotors out. It took 2 serpentine belt pullys and the starter also.

I mostly did the mud pits in winter, so I would find flooded out neighborhoods and run through them to clean the undercarriage. Done your method also.

I know from mountain biking that mud and sand can destroy a set of brake pads in a day. And I would hate to risk having any mud make its way past a seal into a bearing, CV shaft, or other moving part. I stay away from muddy trails when I can.

The engine is still new to me. I've read plenty of threads on it, and I know that a lot of people do 7,500 intervals. I just wanted to see an answer in real time. I read that Bob the oil guy(?) claims it is one of the most efficient engines ever produced. I was just curious to everyone's opinion here.
